Clear blue case sample

Posted by Pierre-Louis Boyer (Creator)

Hey guys!

I received the first blue case samples!

Supplier made 2 tones for me, if you want to help choose the one you prefer, light or deep. You can vote in comment (if you backed for limited version ofc)

If you have comment on the color don't hesitate I can ask to change still.

Also I got some more sample pictures :

Box sample from another supplier

It's matte black, but it looks different. I feel the other supplier looks nicer.

I also got samples of the manual :

 Well that's it for today!

So that's make 20 for light blue vs 18 for deep blue.
Althought I agree with you both color are very close together.

I asked factory to assemble them and send more picture asap. Will post them when I got them.

    11. Marc Muller

      Think I’ll choose deep blue.
And for the boxes, now this is Kraft color with black print, and I prefer this one (as the first set of boxes, I didn’t see Kraft paper color...)

Light blue looks like it would show off the components better - easier to show off it's not just a raspberry pi inside

    13. Rob on

Light blue, either box is great, perhaps brown is mu preference, very retro

I vote the light blue, I don't mind boxes at all. Thanks Pierre for the excellent job :)

As a backer of the limited version, I prefer the Deep Blue

    17. Joshua Borlase

I agree it would be easier to make a decision if there were some components inside

    18. Matthias Rost

I can’t see significant differences between both variants.

Can you post the same cases fully assembled please?

I didn't see any differences but as a "blue color" backer i would choose Deep Blue i think.

I don't mind really, I do not see much difference between the two colors. If I have to choose one, I choose light blue. Thanks!

Deep blue case and black matte box from other supplier.

    27. John on

      Light Blue

Deep blue anderen the boxes from the First supplier look better

    29. Gregory Bean

I'd have to agree with the others, it's hard to really decide with just empty cases. It would be better if we could see the samples as they will look with the components inside.

I ordered one and I think the dark blue one. And I like the gloss boxes better. More risistance to water damadge.

I like the light blue case. I think the inner components will be more visible underneath it.

    32. Ambi Valent on

Is there any option to get an original case too?

      Steven Lewis on

      Deep Blue please :)

    34. Jokin Astobiza on

I didn't get the limited version, because (correct me if I am wrong) the only difference was the case and I wasn't sure a transparent one would be nicer TO ME. So sorry if I should keep my mouth shut...
But after checking those pictures (maybe I should wait until seeing it filled) I also have to say that TO ME the clear cases don't look so nice, I am happy for having chosen the opaque version...
In any case, I am SO ready to have it on my hands! Thanks for all the updates, I really appreciate it

    35. Ryan Lloyd on

Thanks for the great update. I like the speckled grey ‘stone’ look the best I have to say.

I pick a light one, dude

    37. Javier Palacios on

I pledged a limited edition and seeing only the case is difficult to decide. I really want to have it now!

Views like this I like more the deep blue.

    38. Snow7L on

I personally like the light blue case a little better. Reminds me a bit of my old see-through Game Boy Color, I suppose.

As for the boxes, the new supplier's look decent, but I agree with you. The other supplier does seem better in comparison.
