Wow!

Hello! It has been just over a year since our last update and we felt it was time to send another update! :) We had another very successful year at the hop yard. We harvested and sold almost 450 lbs of hops this year. Much of it went to Kane Brewery in Ocean Township, NJ.  They brewed their Oast House Head High again for the 3rd year and this year introduced Deep Rooted, an all wet hopped beer made with our hops. In addition, Triumph Brewery in Princeton, NJ and New Hope, PA created their Oast House IPA. We also delivered our hops to our CSA members and several home brewers had fun creating their brews with our hops! Also, The Bent Spoon in Princeton, NJ made a lemon hop sorbet using our hops.  Unfortunately, we were not fast enough to get there to taste it but we heard it was wonderful by our friends who made it in time!

We had over 20 volunteers this year working to help harvest all the hops.  Each hop was hand picked, weighed and packed up by our wonderful volunteers.  It was a long 12 hours!

Check out one of the articles written about us this year!

Again, we cannot thank you enough for your support! It was been quite a ride and we are having a ball!

Hop Harvest and In the News!

We had a very successful hop harvest last weekend!  We had a total of about 43 lbs of hops this year.  Half went back to Kane Brewery in Ocean Township where they will be making the Oast House Head High and the rest was divided up among our CSA members.  It was a great family event.  Children, parents, grandparents all participated in harvesting the hops.

The Oast House has also been in the news recently!  Check out the article on NJ.com and be sure to watch the video all the way to the end!

There was also an article written about hops and hop farms in NJ in Edible Jersey Magazine (ediblejersey.com). They featured Oast House and have included some great pictures as well.  It is a free magazine that can only be found in certain food stores around the state.

Jerseybrews.com Video

Jerseybrews.com created a video about the Oast House! Check it out when you have a moment. As they say in the video, it is because of family, friends and people we don't even know that made it all possible.  So, THANK YOU! To each and every one of you - for your constant support and belief in us!
