nocturneWe are a couple of friends from the wild west coast of Denmark, we have always been interested in film and filmmaking,
you can call us autodidact filmmakers.
Kevin is the 40 yo. nurse and moviemaker that have produced, directed and played in different shorts and tv-shows:
He is from the northern Norway, but now live in Denmark.
Kevin working on the script:
Christian is the 29 yo. movie nerd from the west coast of Denmark, studied movie making in high school and community college.Comes from a family of musicians and artists.
Our project Nocturne is the story about four high school teens spending the summer break on a back to basic journey at a lake in and old forest. But something ancient and mythical has awaken in the depth of the lake.
Our villain Nicor, or the Nix (many names in old mythology, in scandinavian he is called Nøkken) is a brilliant violinist, and a shapeshifter who lures his victims into a watery death with his music.
here are some examples of how he is been drawn in folklore books:
The music in the movie plays a very central part, because of the nature of the villain. We have been very privileged to get a composer, Kresten Wolff, who is now taking a masterclass with Hans Zimmer.
Here is Kresten Wollf on the piano at a meeting in Copenhagen, our first meeting, and he improvised for us thoughts on music.

About the idea:
We have always been very interested in movies, and we met at bow and arrow practice half a year ago, and started talking about movies.
I, Kevin, had been looking out on a lake and had this idea of making a movie about the Nix, or Nicor a mythological creature, and I talked to Christian about this, and he got very excited. And during this 6 months we have written a great script based on the mythological creatures of Norse mythology and old folklore, met some interesting people and done a couple of interviews in media.
working on the script the first day:
We also held a audition and got some actors for the movie, and now we are working on the trailer.
A little from audition:
So a lot have happened since that cold Wednesday in March at Bow and Arrow practice.
BUDGET for this low budget movie is about 170 000 DKK.
We already got some of the equipment, actors, composer and crew, but still need to buy a editing computer that will cost about 10 000 DKK, and later there will be expenses for launching it to film festivals.
We already got cinemas in two west coast cities; Lemvig and Holstebro to say they are willing to launch a release party.
Our small test photos/vids of the Nix.
Kevin Promoting the movie at a festival:
and of course if you back the movie you all get to be on the THANK YOU list in the movie, and for those backing it for more than 400 DKK you'll also get this T-shirt:
