"As a reader, I am always thrilled to find a writer who has a unique way of looking at the world and a new way of telling me about it. Here she is. Leah Koss."
Helen Henslee, author of Pretty Redwing and the Stage Reading Version of E.L. Doctorow's The March
"Leah Koss is an intelligent, witty, and extremely funny writer. Her spot-on observations are insightful and original. Her stories are deliciously wacky and genuinely lovely."

If you can't view the video here is the gist: Hi my name is Leah Koss and I’m a writer…and an event planner…I’m hoping you'll be able to enjoy both of these “talents” by supporting my kickstarter project. A while back I wrote a dark , comedic novel in which the lead character is battling depression and then finds out she is dying of inoperable cancer. The story takes the young woman on a journey of self-discovery and misadventure as she comes to terms with her grim reality. I got great feedback from agents and editors at Random House and Harper Collins but they thought it may be a little too dark to publish as my first novel and told me to get back to them with my next manuscript. I was very eager to get them my next novel but had a few other things..like life…pop up in the meantime…I co-wrote a television script that had me meeting with HBO and did some travelling too. That's when I met Seymour and Sylvia, the main characters in my second novel. ..Lo Siento. They’re both wounded and wickedly funny and coincidentally end up in the same small village in England. Seymore facing his past and Sylvia running from hers. The book spans continents and decades and was inspired while I was living in the tiny village of Orford, England and in Buenos Aires. I have the outline for the novel and now need the time to devote to writing it. When I write I can spend 8 hours at a desk with paper and pen and love every minute of it…but it does require I have income during those months. So I am doing kickstarter and have already gotten tremendous support from the people who have made the rewards I can offer you such wonderful experiences. If you can’t come to NYC for the events, I hope you decide that Sweeping the Nation should be one of your beach reads….So that I can stay in all summer writing another. Because the beach is already so sunny…why not bring your own little raincloud out to play.
