About this project
Hi, my name is Jeff Curtin. My band, The Minstrels, is currently putting the finishing touches on our second full-length album. We've put a lot of time, effort, and resources into it, and we're very excited that it's nearing completion. In the past, we've recorded most of our songs on our own. For this album, we decided to record in a professional studio in order to help realize the potential of our musical ideas. After checking out several Rochester area options, we went with GFI studios in Webster, NY. The album, titled Now We Travel Broken, is recorded, mixed, and mastered. Remaining costs include cd production, distribution, and promotion; we're asking for your support in getting it ready for release.

On the right side of this page, you can see the rewards we've come up with for each pledge level. We hope you find them appealing. We’re fortunate to have had visual artist and graphic designer Kurt Ketchum (http://altpick.com/kurtketchum/ http://www.kurtketchum.com) do our cover art. Many of the reward packages include T-shirts featuring his cover art as well as 11x17 prints of the artwork signed by Kurt.
Recording this album has been an exciting, intimidating, frustrating, maddening, fun, and joyous experience. Many thanks to Tony Gross, who owns GFI (gfimusic.com/ ), and Matt Overlan (www.overlansound.com), who recorded and mixed the album. Very talented people; we’re privileged to have worked with them. We chose Nilesh Patel http://www.exchangemastering.co.uk/engineers.html to master the album based on the strength of his work. We didn't know him personally, and this album is but one tiny part of his impressive career. Nonetheless, we would like to honor his memory by thanking him here.
We’d like to have the album out by September, but we need your support to make that happen. To those fans who know how long we’ve been working on this album, we’re sorry it took so long and we hope you find it worth the wait. We’re very close; we just need a little help to get it finished. To all our backers, thanks in advance for your support!
