The Cannes Film Festival has been around since the 1940s, but the one thing everyone has always said about it is that it didn't have enough smart-aleck American movie critics. Jeff Bayer and Eric D. Snider would like to remedy this by recording daily podcasts from the 2012 festival under the "Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider" banner. This will be a boon to the international community and will probably result in some Nobel Prizes.
Cannes is very expensive, though, because it's all the way in France and everything costs a lot. They don't even take "dollars" over there! This Kickstarter campaign is to raise the funds necessary for airfare, hotel accommodations, food, and berets. We intend to operate as cheaply as possible without having to sleep in a park.
In return, we'll do at least 6 podcasts of at least 45 minutes each during the week we're there. These will be the sort of high-quality "Movie B.S. with Bayer and Snider" frivolity you're accustomed to, with reviews of the movies we're seeing at Cannes, stories about the weird things that French people say to us, and probably complaints about the weather. It will be as if you're right there at Cannes with us! Only better, because you won't be!
