For years Protokult have played shows and spread their unique brew of folk-inspired heavy metal across the globe. A majority (if not all of the costs) associated with the project have been funded by the band members themselves. To keep our creative spirits flowing, to sustain truly creative metal in Canada and to keep the scene thriving, the band understands that metal is not a "mainstream" genre (and never will be) and have always personally supported themselves and the project. Unfortunately, with the cost of recording, printing, and the modern-day costs of living/surviving rising, we issue a plea and promise to help us in the upcoming year.
Considering digital and visual mediums of the modern era, we have full intent of releasing power-pumping new music along with a future video concept. The band has more than an albums worth of new material, certainly the heaviest and most consistent to date. Furthermore, with the amazing support of the diverse Canadian metal community during the filming of Oy Kanada in Toronto 2016/2017, it is a testament that the genre is alive and well and the best metal kultivation is yet to come!
Risks and challenges
We are all active musicians with prior studio experience. We will be posting demos and prep work in advance and footage from the studio. This launch is a chance for fans to keep supporting us and to get us well on our way into the next recording phase and towards pre-planning the new video in 2018.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
