A SPECIAL CHANCE
You may be asking yourself - "how on earth are you expecting to shoot a feature film with an international cast and crew, in a foreign country with a budget of 18,000!?"
Well... the answer is quite simple. Our budget/opportunities do not end at 18,000. Not only is the entire cast and crew willing to work on this film for free, we have also secured housing, catering and locations (see video below) for the film. In addition to that we have attached some great sponsors for our post-production phase, as well as a very talented british band called 'Oh So Quiet' who will be scoring Dusky Paradise.
This means that all the money that is funded will go into three essential things:
- Travel (20%)
- Equipment (50%)
- Post-Production (30%)
This project seems to be growing every day and we would love for you to get involved. So check out our great rewards and become part of the Dusky Family!
Dusky Paradise was written out of my admiration for the outsider character, his concealed emotions and the comedy that comes with it.
Jacob is the kind of personality we have all come across in our lives and to some degree find a piece of ourselves in him. He is that person who needs to be woken up! I wanted Jacob to enter a new world, an overwhelming place that resembles paradise, and show no excitement or emotion about it. Although appreciative of the comfortable, physical joys of the world Jacob’s apathetic attitude towards life prevents him from experiencing any kind of human emotion, not even the grieve over his parent’s death.
However, this film is not only about one but three lost individuals who come together by chance and learn from each other over the course of a short period of time.
Ultimately, Dusky Paradise is about the potential of life. The message I most try to communicate with this film is that within the monotony of every day life there is always room for excitement, passion and to some degree adventure. (LIKE THIS KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN!!!!)

Believe it or not, this turtle is a big part of Dusky Paradise!
(if we don‘t reach our goal, everything that we already have counts for nothing and everybody will be very sad... also, our turtle will go back to unemployment!)
Risks and challenges
We have two small risks:
1. Our shoot will be 25 days long and tightly packed:
To overcome this we have a well matched and perfectly harmonized crew that has collaborated on numerous projects and is prepared to work extra hours. In addition to that, the films locations are all very close together which allows us to move around quickly and efficiently.
2. Equipment transport expenses:
Due to the fact that we are shooting in a foreign country it will be too expensive to transport our Equipment to Spain. Thankfully we have an assisting producer on the Island who has already connected us with local equipment houses.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
