About
Dice Defence rolled from a passion of playing and coming up with ideas for board games. I have always loved sitting down with friends and family to play any kind of board game. I came up with the idea for Dice Defence when messing around with some DnD Dice, this gave me the idea for a board game revolving DnD dice and tower defence.
I plan to use Kickstarter as a way to properly begin the project, if I meet the goal I will make another project with everything fully designed equipped with better rewards and the final designs.
Dice Defence primarily uses Dice to show the characters and towers. Players have a set of Dice that act like units for their side of the board. Each player will have a tower, mobility units, soldiers and soldier bases. Damage is used through dice and whenever a unit takes damage, the number on the dice goes down by 1. For instance, if my tower has 20 health and takes 2 damage, it will be taken down to 18. When a players tower is knocked out, the player loses. Each player will also receive two cards from the hero deck and three cards from the spell deck. Soldier units can be combined with the hero deck to boost their abilities significantly! If a soldier dies, the hero card is discarded and another is drawn. Spell cards help with a variety of things such as healing, and moving faster.
D20 - The main tower that each player has.
D12 - A catapult-like unit that deals D6 damage and moves around with a D4.
D6(x2)- A soldier camp in which soldiers are deployed. If a soldier is killed, the camp will go down by one. If you completely run out of soldiers, you will also lose.
D4(x12) - A soldier unit that deals and moves based on the hero card.
The board is a 12x12 grid with each unit moving along the squares on the grid. The placement of each tower is up to the player.
This game is for 2-4 players aged 14+. 30-40 minutes of playtime.
Risks and challenges
I am still in the process of creating the board games designs, and the manufacturing of the dice. To overcome this, this project will be what pushes it onto its feet.
