Now, for Scapula’s tenth year anniversary, I’ve written and drawn a massive special issue in the style of the great golden/silver age comic books. This 52-page beast contains all-new stories and artwork, along with loads of extras for all of the backers who help make it possible!
Here’s what’s on the diabolical double-feature:
A horrifying tale of a spooky museum, a gaggle of ghastly grotesques, and a living potty!
Presented in glorious B&W and chock-full of vampires, werewolves, zombies, and other cuddly creeps, this story is for all the die-hard fans of classic horror.
Scapula and the Sinister Monster Doom Legion return in a rockin’, roarin’ sci-fi adventure, filled with all of the good things: kaiju, robots, UFOs, aliens (both the sexy and extremely non-sexy variety), city-smashing destruction, and more shocks!
Villain profiles and an inside peek of Scapula’s secret lair!
Pin-up gallery (it’s monster art, not supermodels…but there’s other magazines for that).
A ten year-retrospective of the best, worst, and most ridiculous tales from SCAPULA’s lengthy career.
“Be A Monster” – special caricatures will be made of the higher-level Kickstarter backers (see Rewards list below)…as cute and cuddly kaiju! See yourself as a city-smashing beastie, weird alien invader, or whatever horror/sci-fi trope suits your wicked fancy!
It wouldn’t be a monster mash without plenty of party favors!
Thank you for reading this spiel; creating and publishing SCAPULA for the past ten years has been one of the greatest joys of my artistic career, and I hope that everyone, both old fans and new, will join the fun!
Risks and challenges
The comics and artwork are all completed and ready to go to press (only the ‘Be A Monster’ caricatures need to be drawn, but this does not affect the book’s production schedule). I’ve selected a printing service with a history of fine comic publications to handle the duties; once the campaign has met its goal production will begin immediately.
This is my second Kickstarter campaign, the previous one successfully funding Scapula: World’s Worst Villain with Arsenal Comics & Games Publishing in 2014.
