Thank You: We Did It and Next Steps
Let me start by saying thank you. Thanks to your generosity, the next phase of testing will go forward, and the story moves forward with it. I'll be in touch with David Prince at EMSL Analytical (a national materials-testing firm), setting up this lab work over the next several days.
The time frame looks like this: the Kickstarter funds are held for about 14 days before disbursal (I suppose this includes the week or so to make sure all the funds are collected, and then a week's delay in case the funded party was perhaps thinking of running away to Vegas).
Meanwhile, I'm off to the UK for a conference (presenting on Bob Dylan at the University of Winchester). Upon my return, I'll be in fresh contact with the veterinary diagnostic labs in New Hampshire, pursuing that end of the story. Today, the current version, the shorter magazine piece, went out to an additional journal, this one in Vermont.
The results of the previous submissions have started to come in: this McCarthy story made the long list of a journal entry process in the UK; it is still under review by a Toronto journal. One note: I still have not submitted this version to the more conventional magazine market. I'd like to see the new research added to it, before beginning that process.
More to come. Many thanks.
