Tor Festival will bring together a range of amazing musicians from both the local area, across the UK and abroad! The music will span everything from noise to folk and we hope everyone who attends will see and hear something new to them.
We started putting on gigs at Todmorden Unitarian Church just over a year ago and have been overwhelmed with the positive response we've had from both the local community and musicians from across the globe wanting to come and play. We've had such a good time putting on the shows and had so much good feedback we've decided to put on our first festival to coincide with the one year anniversary of our very first show!
Many of the bands will be travelling long distances to play the festival and we will use the money raised to help cover a portion of the booking costs along with money raised elsewhere.
Here is the current line up-
Friday 25th July - BBBlood / Debbie Sharp / Electric Knife Boa Melody Band
Saturday 26th July - The Five Star Family Elan / Bear Bones Lay Low / Bridget Hayden / Delphine Dora / These Feathers Have Plumes / Kelly Jones & Pascal Nichols / Ben Reynolds / United Bible Studies / Lobster Priest + more TBC
Also, sound artist Helmet Lemke, will be making a special outdoor sound installation for the duration of the Saturday.
Great food and beer will be available for purchase from local providers.
Sunday 27th July - Jason Steel + one more to be confirmed very soon!
Even if you can't make it along to the festival we have some great rewards on offer for everyone!
Risks and challenges
Other than raising money to pay the bands we will have to arrange accommodation, food and a bar for the festival as well as other none music based events. We plan on reaching out to the local community and businesses to help us provide everything we need to make it a great festival!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
