The Social Planning Council (SPC) of Peel wants to partner with you, so we can collect data and publish a book on Keys to Professional Success for Indigenous and Filipino Women. We are a small non-profit organization that conducts research and provides services to improve quality of life across all groups.
The Indigenous and Filipino female populations are growing rapidly, and more information is needed about what can facilitate their success in the workforce. Communities flourish when women are productive in multiple sectors. We need your participation to publish this important book! Our goal is to raise $16,200 ($9,700 for data collection/surveys and $6,500 for printing/distribution).
In partnership with you, we will begin the project on March 28th, 2018 and publish the book by December 5th, 2018. We want to illuminate the qualities and skills of successful Indigenous and Filipino women, so others can learn from their journeys.
We will publish the book in December and make it easily accessible for everyone. We are asking for your help to complete this valuable book!
Risks and challenges
The research required for this book involves no risk of discomfort or harm to the survey respondents. We will be focusing on the qualities of Indigenous and Filipino women that others can duplicate to excel in the workforce. The greatest challenge is the recruitment of over 180 respondents; however, we will be allocating some of the funds we are requesting to incentives for the prospective respondents.
We are a 53-year-old non-profit organization that has conducted extensive economic and quality of life research on the female, senior, recent immigrant, racialized, and South Asian populations. Examples of our prior work can be found at portraitsofpeel.ca. We have the vision, expertise, and ability to complete this project on time (December 2018).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
