Thank you for taking an interest in our new independently produced feature film called The Newscaster. This will be the 2nd feature length movie that Natural Wipe Films plans on making and we need your support to help that happen.
The first film we produced was called A Cadaver Christmas. We were successful in getting that film distribution both in the United States and abroad. Securing cable deals with the Showtime Network in the US, and HBO Europe with the alternate title Zombies at Christmas.
The goal for this new film is to take a truly authentic look into local news that is firmly planted in the horror genre. The film will dive into some uncomfortably twisted scenarios as well as some pretty harsh dark comedy. We have already produced a five minute teaser of the films opening scene that we are excited to share with you for donating $1.
Other perks include this 11x17 teaser poster produced for the short film version.
For only $15 you will receive (along with the poster and other online content) a link to the online screener of the film before it goes into distribution.
The entire $15,000 will be spent on getting the film shot.
A good portion of the money will be spent on travel arrangements for the actors. Including gas, hotel accommodations, etc. We plan on hiring a well known genre actor for a two day shoot - which will cost roughly $2,000 or more depending on who we can get.
We will be using high end production equipment at no upfront cost. Including a RED cinema camera, dolly tracks, booms, etc. Members of our main crew will receive some payment for their time and effort upfront - but since the budget is so small, full payment will be deferred.
Other main production expenses would be for props, makeup, and gore effects.
A few post production expenses such as original music, poster art, and audio mixing will have to be worked out once the filming is complete.
I'm not taking any upfront money for my time writing/storyboarding/directing/editing/producing. So it is in my best interest to make the best film that I can to hopefully someday get paid for my troubles...or my wife will kill me.

Risks and challenges
If we get funded, the plan would be to shoot 8 separate weekends within a year. Giving you video updates of the progress after each shoot.
This is to accommodate everyone's day job work schedule. It will also help to keep the morale up, which can fade during long shooting schedules.
However, when you space out the shoots like this - it can introduce several more variables that you may not have doing it all at once...but that is a risk we have to take in order to make this film on such a low budget.
I have confidence, that if funded, the film will be finished and receive distribution - but we can't do that without your support.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
