Final version of the keykeeper
Like many people, I like to ride my Surly Cross Check bicycle around my neighborhood in shorts, v-neck t-shirt and my Ray Ban!Wouldn’t it be cool to have a keychain that I could easily customize the way I want? A keychain that neatly organizes my keys and can hold tools? A keychain that can open a bottle as well?
So I went back to my drawing board and sketched what key features that my keychain should have. Thus the Keykeeper was born!
A keykeeper is a keychain that you can customize the way you want, either with just keys or with min-tools . It is also a bottle opener and has a ¼” hex wrench for different types of driver bits! The less I carry in my pocket, the less chance there is for me misplacing stuff as I dig around in my pockets to find what I was looking for!
A keychain that is made in Oregon. -done!
A keychain that I can customize based on my needs.- done!
A bottle opener. - done!
A ¼” hex wrench for different driver bits (why, not!), done!
A set of mini-tools, done!
In my case, my keykeeper hold two keys, 4mm/5mm allen wrenches and flat head/Phillips screwdriver. I am good to go.
You can customized the keykeeper anyway you like, (just remember the more you add to it, the heavier it is going to be) There is a ¼”” hex built in, so throw a few bits in your road bike seat bag instead of carrying a full set!
Keykeeper is made from stainless steel
Each piece is hand polished so no two are alike!
Stone tumbled for smooth round finished.
size: 3.22 inches by 1 inches
Each keykeeper will be hand polished and stone tumbled finished.
I want to keep the design simple and clean, and will be offering the keykeeper in two versions:
¼” hex wrench in the middle of the keychain, a bottle opener and will hold up to 6 keys!
Will have the same feature as version 1.0 but will come will a mini-tool set consist of 2mm,/2.5mm/3mm/4mm/5mm/6mm Allen wrenches, a flat head screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver! It will also come free post extension kit so that you can truly customize the keykeeper the way you like it!
Keeping with the same theme as my first project, the keykeeper is also Made in Oregon!
I live in Beaverton, Oregon, a one hour bike ride to Portland where the Keykeeper is going to be manufactured. Just a few blocks from the manufacturer is another shop that will do the polishing. The material supplier, the manufacturer and the polisher are all in the same neighborhood, the same neighborhood where I happen to work, at a post office. Production and shipping will be streamline just like the Road Bike Keychain Mini-tool!
The groundwork is set and ready to go, with the money I raise, I will place a minimum order to get it made! Any additional money will goes toward buying my first CNC machine and part of it will go toward the next project!
I am very happy that I am able to share my vision with people like you!
I want to say a very special thank you
Kevin Wrede and my wife for their support and faith in myself and this project.
Michael khamsot, the nicest guy you’d ever want to meet.
Risks and challenges
I work in the same neighborhood as the material supplier, the manufacturer and the polisher. If a problem arises, I will do whatever it takes to resolve it. As always, I will keep you posted every step of the way just like the Road Bike Keychain Mini-tool! I will be using the same the same manufacturer as I did with my 1st project, inspection and packaging each keykeeper will be done by me and my wife.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
