Choose your own backer icon
We extend our welcome to all the backers who have joined us since we launched. Within the first few hours, Fabled Lands: The Serpent King's Domain had over 100 backers. Now it's only grown!
Of course, much is thanks to publicity and word-of-mouth from kind people like you, topics that are very familiar and very important to Kickstarter creators. If you'd care to help spread awareness more, how about a Fabled Lands profile icon?
. . . Of your choice from all six professions available in the game?
"I'm a backer" images
Below are the starting characters from the first books published back in the 1990s, conveniently matched to Kickstarter image dimensions. Which one speaks for you?
These are the general style of the images to be created for the "starting character" pledge levels. Which are . . . completely sold out! That was fast! Yes, we are in discussion about possible new levels to fill the empty spot on the list.
Oh, and you can see we took a variant of one these for our profile icon. But please don't think we're playing favorites!
The art meter
In preparation for this campaign, we set up the art meter to focus on those top-priority entries at the left: the map, the cover, and the incidental art (for help in text layout). We THOUGHT we would have time to discuss what each one meant as funding increased. Take a look at the meter now:
Weeks ago, I did math based on past campaigns to predict how far it would climb. I just checked again, and we're nearing my predictions for THE ENTIRE PROJECT. All of it!
Now, sure, if you know anything about how Kickstarter projects tend to get funded, you know there's an initial surge, then a plateau, then hopefully a final surge. As we enter the weekend, it's wholly possible that funding will slow down to a plateau. But surely we can find still more backers (you'll help with spreading the word, right? I'm sure working on it!), so who can say what will happen?
We are talking amongst ourselves about re-organizing the art meter. I intend to prepare an essay for Monday about funding all-in-all. Your suggestions in the comment section are appreciated and we are also considering them in the group. Please continue to share your thoughts!
And thank you again for guaranteeing that Fabled Lands will return!
