Siegebreakers is a Hack-and-Slash Base Defense game focused on the good old-fashioned fun of couch co-op. You and your friends play as the Siegebreakers, an elite group of dwarven mercenaries hired out to defend castles from sieges.
Siegebreakers estimated release date is October 2013, and will be available for PC, Linux, Mac, and Xbox 360.
Alpha Demo (PC Only)
Disclaimer: This alpha demo is a ROUGH window into what the game is like. It is not indicative of the final product. Features will be polished, improved and changed along the way.
The current demo supports local play only, keyboard and USB 360 controller. Local multiplayer is supported through the use of USB 360 controllers.

We are currently in the middle of development so these features are in various stages of completion, but here's what you can expect from a completed Siegebreakers:
Dynamic Splitscreen - Equally as impressive as the AI director is the 4 player dynamic split screen camera. As we wanted to focus on the co-op experience, we needed to figure out how to accommodate 4 players on the screen at once. No matter how far apart the players get from each other, they are always easily able to see both themselves and their surroundings.
Problem Solving AI - Mine, build, and battle your way to victory against a powerful AI director that dynamically changes what enemies you face based on your playstyle. Spending all your time building up the castle? Your foes will bring their siege weaponry to bear. Enjoying the thrill of facing enemies in melee? Brutal champions will come out to brawl.
Building System - There are sixteen buildings you can build to defend your castle in Siegebreakers, split into four categories: Castle Structures, Unit Buildings, Utility and Traps.
Castle Structures are the building blocks of castles: drawbridges, rooms, fortifications, etc.
Unit Buildings create NPC defenders that make you feel like you are participating in a large siege in defense of a castle full of live people.
Utility Buildings empower the player in defending the castle, either through buffing them or performing a vital function.
Traps are static defenses you can build to ensure the safety of your castle even when you yourself aren't around.
Equipment - What kind of dwarf doesn't have an arsenal of tools to get the job done? The siegebreakers are loaded to the teeth with a variety of weapons to bear against the foes. For public consumption we have:
Battleaxe - Your standard melee weapon. Use it while sprinting to make a spinning attack, allowing you to jump a little further and higher.
Blunderbuss - The primary ranged weapon of the Siegebreakers. Fire a spray of bullets at your enemies, but watch out - it's got one heck of a kickback to it!
Grappling Hook - Zip around the map on your very own grappling hook! Target terrain to swing and launch yourself around the map, and target enemies to pull them towards you!
Pickaxe - Every dwarf should have a pickaxe. It's a crucial tool for mining resources out of the ground, and can kill enemies in a pinch.
Shield - The shield is a powerful defensive equipment that protects you from ranged and melee enemy attacks. Hold to block, and tap to throw like a boomerang, knocking back and dealing some damage to enemies.
Spellbook - A mystical tome for throwing around spells. Shoot fireballs, tornadoes, and arcane energy - or just turn your enemies into sheep!
Warhammer - A very hefty weapon, but well worth the weight (heh). It can crush many foes at a time under its mass. The warhammer can also be used defensively, speeding up the construction of buildings and repairing damaged ones.
Kick-Butt Music - We have two wonderful composers working with us on the game, Jacob Pernell, and Emily Kingsbury. Here's a taste of what they've been cooking up for us:
Hold The Line by Jacob Pernell
You can check out more of Jacob's work here:
Tundra Onslaught by Emily Kingsbury
Rune System - To introduce more variety into how you use your equipment, you can socket runes into your weapons. Each rune gives a unique effect to your weapon, such as a burning DoT, extra Knockback, or even making you able to fly!
Networking - Even though spiritually this is a couch co-op game, it would be foolish of us to not let you play with friends online. Connect with three others and play through campaign, endless and other modes over the internet with your friends.
Campaign Mode - Either cooperatively or solo, you can go from zero to hero in a campaign that challenges you to claw your way to the top of the mercenary business.
Endless Mode - Get pitted against endless waves of enemies in a hopeless siege to stretch your Siegebreaking talents.
Versus Mode - Tired of Siegebreaking? Try out some good old fashioned Siegeing in 4v4 Castle vs Castle battles!
Unique Environments - Fight across five different terrain types , forest, desert, underground, tundra, and sky (and a super secret level that is already in the game), each with their own look and feel and a boss. These environments are subject to weather, day/night cycles, and all kinds of neat little details that not only make the world feel even more immersive, but also affect the way the game is played!
Level Editor - Even though we have the ability to procedurally generate levels, there is nothing quite like a lovingly hand crafted level. We want to put the creative tools in your hands to create a level as you see fit.
The $10,000 Dollars
Like we said in the video, every dollar we make is going towards getting art into the game. We want more than a single desert level to play on!
Each playable character costs an artist of the caliber we are hiring about $1000
Each boss costs about $1250
Each enemy costs $3-400
Assuming we meet our minimum goal, we expect to be able to create 3 other playable characters, 3 more bosses, and a couple more enemies. The more we get will be adding more content to the game like secret levels, more equipment, et cetera!
$10,050 - Pizza Party for the Devs: Us devs have been working really hard on this, and to help motivate us, we will spend the extra $50 to nourish ourselves with glorious pan-baked pizza. That in turn will inspire us to do even more awesome things on the project, so we see it as a win-win!
$12,500 - Siegebreakers HQ: In campaign mode you will have a persistent base that you can customize and build to your liking. Upgrade and build onto it to gain more equipment, more blueprints, and more tools to fight goblins!
$15,000 - Mini Bosses: Right now there are only "grunt" units in the demo. We will be adding a boss unit to our next patch so look out for that. The purpose of adding mini-bosses is to bridge that gap. Not quite a boss, but more than a match for a single player out by themselves.
$20,000 - Region Specific Grunts: Each environment will have grunt units wholly unique to that environment in addition to the local goblins.
$30,000 - Rock Zombie Level:We will add an extra bonus level where rather than defending the king from typical enemies, you will be bouncers at a metal concert so rad it awakens the DEAD.
$35,000 - ??????????
$40,000 - ??????????
$45,000 - ??????????
$50,000 - ??????????
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking the time to check out our Kickstarter. This really is our passion project, and being able to finish it to the scope we envisioned would be a real dream come true. Even if you can't afford to help fund our kickstarter, think about showing it to your friends - maybe they'll love it enough to get a four pack and share a copy with you!

Risks and challenges
We are a student team with relatively small experience shipping games, so that is definitely a potential stumbling block. However, we have a large amount of passion for our project and the mentors we need to ensure that you receive the product we show you here. Crowdfunding is serious business and we take the responsibility we have to each and every backer seriously. We would not have come to Kickstarter if we weren't absolutely certain we could deliver.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
