NEW VIDEO UPDATE:
FIRST LOOK AT THE BOARD GAME CAFE
Opened in 2013. Headshots Bar & Grill is your place for pub food, craft beer, & video games. Set up like a sports bar, Headshots offers a place for gamers and non-gamers alike to enjoy a unique atmosphere filled with esports, board games, costume parties, & game tournaments. Beginning with only a dozen beers on the menu and 10 sandwiches, Headshots has grown to carry offer over 70 craft beers and offer a wide variety of American style pub food such as burgers, wraps, & small plate appetizers. Several times a year, the restaurant bursts at it's 130 occupancy seams and guests are left to wait outside. We need more space.
In our current location we are tucked in the back of a shopping center with limited road visibility and without any neighbors to generate similar market foot traffic. We can be spotted on 21st street but we are partly covered by two buildings and we have zero visibility from Woodlawn.
We won't have to move far to get the changes we need.
So we are looking at about 7000 sq ft, estimated 225 occupancy. Bigger bathrooms. Sprinkler systems. Higher ceilings. Larger Mop Closet. Bigger Kitchen. Room for a big walk-in cooler. A real office and employee area. Giant lobby. (The "office" that I am in while I type this is actually a 4x6 closet)
Many of our events require us to hold the door at capacity. The new location will allow for us to add a hundred seats and have more dedicated areas for different types of gaming.
We always joked about getting a building a putting everything we love inside it and just making the perfect place; this is that building. Everything is going in one place.
There will be similar businesses in the area. Brittany Center already has an indoor go kart track, laser tag center, table top game shop, & an escape room. Synergy between Headshots and other entertainment tenants on the corner will increase overall foot traffic at the center.
We will share a wall adjacent Hero Complex Games and Entertainment. Let me talk a moment on why that is important. Hero Complex sits as the center hub in the city for table top games. Tons of geeks, nerds, & gamers in the city support this business and gather around their many events. There is an event every single night, and we don't want to be any different. They run Magic the Gathering FNM/PTQs, Pokemon league, MTG cube leagues, family game nights, D&D encounters, X-wing tournaments, & Warhammer and Warmachine and a hundred other games that have tiny figures you can put together and paint and play games with. The tables were built custom tough and had under storage shelves installed. I believe having a such a well run business, that shares a similar market with us and goals, is an ideal neighbor. We could not ask for a better location.
-This is one of the best ran game stores I have ever been to.
Think about how crucial this move is to your gaming experience. We know some events an take an entire evening at Hero Complex. You can now go get a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich between rounds of a tournament, or drink yourself away next door if you are the first in your group of friends to 0-2 drop in a magic the gathering night.
In our new location, we can contribute to creating an entertainment corner in Wichita. Do you think there's nothing to do here? Not when there is a corner in town you can play video games, board games, laser tag, race go karts, drink beer, eat pizza, play magic the gathering, or Warhammer. A city that has a reputation for being "boring" is about to get something quite exciting.
There are a lot of things we have wanted to do but have been unable to do so due to size restrictions of the budget. Honestly, we have enough money to make it great, but not enough to make it awesome. The relocation and remodel is going to consume the majority of our funds and we want to be able to continue to provide the best experience possible. We can take care of the basics, but it is up to you guys to help make it awesome!
Goal #1 - 5000 - Walk-In Cooler for Beer
This is the primary goal. Beer. In the end, it's always been about the beer. Headshots has acquired a 24 draft line system ready for installation. We plan to mount them on the wall of a walk-in cooler which will store the kegs at perfect beer temperature. We won't be able to take our currently occupied walk-in refrigerator with us and we've gotta store 48 kegs of beer somewhere.
With your support we can expand our Beer Program to include 24 draft lines by helping supply us with a walk-in cooler to hold the beer. This is the best start for the project.
Stretch Goal #2 - 10000 - Table Top Java Shop - Board Game Cafe
Now that we have our Beer; we need our Board Games and Coffee. Lobby 2 will be converted into a Board Game Cafe with it's own entrance and hours of operation. This will allow for installing a 24 ft coffee and cappuccino bar, expanding the Board Game Library to include over 200 tabletop games, and increasing overall occupancy of the restaurant by about 90 which will be great for hosting private events, tournaments, & performances. We even get two more bathrooms!
The Cafe plans to open early too! Coffee & pastries in the morning and the ability to serve the full Headshots menu of Burgers, Sandwiches, Wraps, & Pizza by lunch. So now we are going to be open basically 9 to 2 am so I'm probably going to die. We have a lot of work to do on lobby 2 before it is finished but I promise that it will be awesome.
We have the absolute best team formed for this adventure. Master class baristas and bakers are lined up to create the best geek coffee and confections in town. More information will be provided when we get close to this goal. Unlocking this stretch goal will also unlock the Kickstarter reward option to purchase a Cafe Card good toward future purchases of food & beverages, board game rentals, & merchandise.
Stretch Goal #3 - 15000 - Patio
There exists a potential 700 sq ft of patio space that can be enclosed on the side of the building. This area is covered and would allow for customers to bring drinks outside. We have access to the roof area of the patio so we could run electric for heating or television hook ups.
This would be great for summer events, live performances, or really for anyone excited about newly constructed barricades. With the alcohol license, there are permits and inspections involved that drive up the cost of adding outdoor seating. Not to keep anyone out, but to keep the alcohol in! This is also the only way we are going to be able to do those obnoxious oversize jenga setups or get any sunlight.
Stretch Goal #4 - 25000 - Pizza Oven
Pizza. We should have done this in the first place. Most of my fondest memories circle around a table of pizza, beer & video games. The new kitchen layout will allow for restructuring of the current menu; we want to add a pizza oven.
Unlocking this stretch goal will also unlock the Kickstarter reward option to pre-order pizza and have a pizza named after you.
Stretch Goal #5 - 35000 - Video Game Library Overhaul
The current library consists of xbox360, xboxone, ps4, wii/u, & pc steam cabinets. Building such a large library that remains in constant use has turned out many consoles, games, and controllers that are in need of repair, upgrades, or replacements.
I don't think we'll ever have EVERY single video game, but we can come close. We want to add several retro consoles as well as expand the current game library.
Stretch Goal #6 - 45000 - Pinball
This stretch goal would allow us to add a wall of pinball machines in the restaurant. Pizza & Pinball makes for a good night. We have some favorites machines in mind but also want to get your opinion. Send us your suggestions and you may see it available for play soon!
This stretch goal will also unlock the Kickstarter reward option of dedicating a Pinball Machine or purchasing a Pinball Pass good for up to free pinball for life.
Stretch Goal #7 - 55000 - Coin Operated Cabinets
Right now we just have Pacman/Galaga. We'd like to old fun stuff like burger-time, donkey kong, x-men, simpsons, and ninja turtles. There has always been a demand for the coin operated cabinets in the bar. Folks are always asking for more game cabinets. Well folks, this is how you get it.
Again, it is tough to have every single video game, but we can sure try.
Stretch Goal #8 - 65000 - Retro Game Stations
When we buy consoles, we buy like eight of them. Expanding the library with a new console involves purchasing cables, controllers, & games. With this stretch goal we will be able to set up older generation consoles at every game station. No more moving around to play different game systems. Everything is right at your booth.
Stretch Goal #9 - 75000 - VR-Stations
We scrap like 16 seats for a corner to do HTC-VR and never tell health department how much headset sweat gets face swapped in the restaurant while fighting invisible people. But really, we just want to get our beer cooler sponsored.
Stretch Goal #10 - 100000 - 24-Hour Lan Center
If for some insane reason we reach this "next level" tier, there are several open suites remaining in Brittany Center at low low low prices so we'll just put in a 24-hour lan center next door.
We will just get the best computers, vending machines, and staff a guy there all the the time so now we never have to leave the nerd mecca we have created. I guess the next step would be lodging? Nerd Hotel? Private Geek Island? Let's start with the beer cooler first.
Be sure to like & share the kickstarter page or visit our website.

For clarification: I do not care what you put on the back of these chairs; it is your chair to sponsor. We are totally familiar with how the internet chooses to name things and are 100% on board with putting whatever on the back of these chairs.
We have a limited amount of barstools in the restaurant for sponsorship so get them while you can!
How long will the plaque stay on the stool? Forever. If the stool is destroyed, we will replace the plaque.

The King or Queens Throne - $1000
A local artist will draw your likeness as a character of our choosing to be placed above the bathroom lavatory. These are extremely limited as we only have so many toilets. There is no gender exclusivity here, sponsorship is received on a first-come first-served basis. A man may sponsor a woman's toilet & a woman may sponsor a man's toilet. Headshots Bar & Grill is a progressive restaurant that has never really cared to enforce what bathroom people have used as our policy will remain to be: "please, not on the floor." You may provide clarification of desired art location and artist rendering after the campaign is complete.
Rent the whole place out for a Private Event - $5000
You may choose a day in the future to have an exclusive party for you and 200 guests. Food & security staff will be provided. You may provide a guest list to maintain exclusivity as the entire 7000 sqft restaurant will be yours for the evening.

Thank you for the all the years and this new life,

Risks and challenges
This project is the second attempt at funding Headshots Bar & Grill. During the first campaign and the four years that followed, we learned a great deal. There are a number of reasons the first campaign didn't do as well as it could have; It is tough to sell the idea of crowd funding to pay for beer and video games without some proof of concept. Fortunately, we are confident that drinking and playing video games is a thing. So confident in fact, that we signed a ten year lease on the new building.
Headshots has shown growth over the past 4 years and developed a regular community of customers that have supported the idea. We couldn't have made it this far without a lot of people buying beer from us. You are all the proof we need. Thank you all so much for what you've done for us so far; thank you for supporting what we hope to do in the future! We look forward to serving you soon!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
