This Kickstarter is to help fund the publishing and marketing of an unconventional sci-fi thriller called "The God Thought" as both an eBook and paperback novel. Check out the synopsis below!
...levels a small town in Kansas and rips apart the commercial airliner flying overhead. The wife and child of Oliver Wells are among the thousands reported dead. Authorities blame the tragedy on an accident at a fertilizer plant not up to code. A year later, still grappling with his depression, Oliver is accosted by a mysterious stranger who offers another answer:
A FARMER CAUSED THE EXPLOSION.
AN EXPLOSION BORN OF THOUGHT.
A THOUGHT SO PERFECT AND DIVINE IT'S SAID TO MIRROR WHAT GOD THOUGHT TO CONCEIVE THE UNIVERSE.
Thrust into a hidden world of conspirators and luminaries who would do anything to attain the farmer's knowledge, Oliver finds himself in a race to confront the man who killed his family. To do so, he must test the limits of his sanity...
AND UNLOCK THE POWER OF THE GOD THOUGHT FOR HIMSELF."
...Sounds pretty cool, right? Kind of fresh yet familiar at the same time? The vast majority of my test readers would whole heartedly agree. Yup, I've tested several drafts of the manuscript - had it professionally edited - I'm feeling really confident in the quality. I just want people to read and enjoy it!
The challenge is getting readers to take that chance. Which is why I'm hoping all of you will read the preview chapters, see if you like it, and if you do, back it and tell all your friends! You'd essentially be pre-ordering the finished book, and receiving it before anyone else. AND if you back at a high enough level, you can be credited IN the final book - immortalized forever as someone who supported it early on! That's pretty cool, because I'm hoping this thing takes off BIG TIME so you can brag to all your friends about how you were there in the beginning. The money raised by your backing will go to fund the final publishing costs and push a digital marketing campaign to get the word out!
Now, there are a few things you should know about this novel other than it is SUPREMELY entertaining...
First, this isn't a religious self-help manual. Though there are spiritual themes and undertones, the story is meant to entertain. I think most people will get that, but others will undoubtedly be offended. I'm okay with that. It's not my intention to step on anyone's beliefs, I just set out to make a quality story.
Second, the book is written in a rather unconventional way. It's a mixture of "evidence" which includes text message transcripts, court hearings, social media postings, etc - all of which is wrapped around a rich narrative prose. Most of my test readers' initial response was: "I don't know where this is going - but I want to find out!" And when they did, they were delighted. That's what I'm after. I come from a video game background, and we like players to discover things and make connections on their own as opposed to always just being "told" the story. That's kind of what I'm doing here, and I promise for the majority of you, when you give it a chance, and discover the rhythm of how things are laid out, you're going to enjoy it. (At least that's what my test readers have assured me.)
Finally, this is a mature book. There are adult themes that carry on in these pages, so don't be handing it to your kid and then writing me scolding emails later about how ten year old Johnny's innocence was lost when he read about X climbing on top of Y and groaning in ecstasy. There is language. There is violence. There are some sexual situations. These things aren't intended to be gratuitous, they are simply parts a mature story. You've been warned!
So, sit back, relax and look things over. I hope you find it worthy of your time and support. Thanks for stopping by!

Risks and challenges
I'll reiterate the big challenge here - GETTING PEOPLE TO READ IT. That may sound oversimplified, but it's true.
I've tested several drafts. The majority of test readers have truly enjoyed the story. But it gets back to that "it's not a book I would normally read" statement in my video. If you don't taste something, how do you know you won't love it? That's why I'm putting so much emphasis on the preview chapters and marketing. And yet there is SO MUCH out there competing for people's attention. How does one break through? Persistence, time, and a little help from people like you. That's how. And hey, if you've been through this and have some ideas, I'm all ears! Simply contact me a firstname.lastname@example.org. I'd love to hear what you've got!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
