THE BOOK AND THE STORY
I am writing a book to inspire families and teach children how to make their dreams come true. I am using the story of the greatest dream-maker in the world as an allegory for developing understanding and skills to make positive and sustainable changes into our lives.
Santa's Dream is a fictional tale that combines powerful storytelling with strong educational content about what is takes to make positive things happen. In this story, Santa Claus is the young Nicolas Claus who has a passion for making toys but is stuck making furniture for the family business not too far from the North Pole in Finnish Lapland. After an epic journey through the four villages of Lapland's Dream Valley (Openness, Trial, Effort and Bravery) Nicolas learns some of the key building blocks of making dreams come true.
EXPERIENCE- 1st GLOBAL DREAM FORUM, 19-20 November 2015
The story of Santa's Village in Rovaniemi Finland is an inspiring one. At the end of the Second World War the city was burnt to the ground. There were hardly any buildings left standing. A few years later, the city received the visit of Eleanor Roosevelt. She was writing columns about Europe's recovery from the war. There was no adequate place for her to stay, so in less than a week, the people of the city built her a cabin where she could spend the night and mail her letters. They built this cabin on the geographic line of the Arctic Circle. The hope she brought to the region and this humble cabin were the first building blocks of what Santa's Village is today.
To celebrate this heritage and the publication of Santa's Dream, I am inviting individuals and families to attend the World's 1st Global Dream Forum under the patronage of Santa Claus before Christmas next year. We are expecting hundreds of people from around the world including the world's leading dream-makers to attend. Children who have made their dreams come true in many different places around the world will be given center stage. We will also have other inspirational figures in attendance such as former heads of state, elite athletes and artists who have made exceptional dreams come true. We will be announcing important partnerships during the Kickstarter campaign. Don't miss this once in a lifetime inspirational opportunity!
COMPELLING EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY
We all remember the cardboard pop-ups in children books. They added great value to the printed word of bedtime stories. With the help of HP's Aurasma augmented reality technology we want to bring the story and teachings of Santa's Dream to life in new and compelling ways. The animation and technology development to make this happen requires significant resources. If Santa's Dream reaches its stretch goal of 150 000 CAD, we will be able to create some 3D augmented reality animations for the book to teach as well as entertain.
WHY THIS MATTERS?
I believe that many of the challenges of the world today come from our inability to think independently and the lack of courage to act collectively. This interactive story is designed to teach our children the way to find their own path in life and the courage to make new and positive things happen.

THE BOOK AND E-BOOK
The estimated time to complete and deliver the Santa's Dream story, illustrations and physical delivery of the book is 6 months from the start of the Kickstarter campaign.I am more than half-way through the writing of the story but I still need to find the right illustrator. I have received a few proposals but I am still waiting for the perfect one to appear. Any suggestions are welcome! This will be my sixth book so I have a proven track record in delivery books on time. This is my first children's book and I am very excited about working with this new genre. I am quite confident that the physical book will be in your hands by end of June 2015. The e-Book could even come as early as end of April 2015.
The campaign goal for the book and e-book is 10 000 CAD. This goal needs to be met to allow us to produce and deliver the books to you. This version of the book is only available in English.
THE FIRST GLOBAL DREAM FORUM -
This is the kind of event I have always dreamed of organizing. As a professional speaker, moderator and organizer of business events around the world (over 300 events in my career), I am confident we can pull this off. Many exciting partnerships will be announced in the course of the Kickstarter campaign.
We need a certain scale to make this experience worthwhile. If our partners and I feel that the group is too small, we may modify the "experience" or cancel the event. In any case we will keep everyone informed and we will of course refund backers if the event does not take place.
The stretch goal of the campaign is 500 000 CAD. This will allow us to created 3D animations, new educational content and games and mobile/tablet applications with the help of HP's Aurasma. If this goal is not reached we will simply produce the more traditional interactive e-book and hardcover book that has a far easier goal to reach of 10 000 CAD.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
