Nemo’s four different motives determine the type of adventure you shall have, and rewards you accordingly by varying the victory points awarded for the game's different tasks. Your motive also determines how much notoriety you can gain before being defeated as an international pariah.
Adventure cards come in three basic varieties: PLAY, which are immediate occurrences that you must deal with; KEEP, which are opportunities for you to take advantage of later, if you desire; and TEST, which are obstacles and adventures that you must overcome – gaining their reward or suffering the penalty for failure.
Nautilus Upgrade cards represent different ways that you can customize the Nautilus on its voyage. These are available for purchase by spending the salvaged remains of ships you have bested in combat at sea. Depending on Nemo’s motive for the game, some of these upgrades can be particularly useful in your quest!
The Character resources aboard your ship are worth considerable points, but sacrificing them to reverse an emergency situation might be a better strategy. Each of these supporting heroes can play their part only once, so carefully consider that before asking them to make their ultimate sacrifice.
The Ship tokens are each individually illustrated and represent historical ships at sea during the Age of Nemo (with a few interesting inclusions pictured here). Their attack and defense values are the large numbers flanking their names. Sending most of them to Davy Jones' Locker will increase your notoriety, but their yield in victory points and useful salvage for upgrades makes every ship at sea a target.
In addition, everyone who pledges for one or more copies of Nemo's War: Second Edition will also receive an enamel pin, exclusive to Kickstarter!

4) After the Kickstarter is successfully funded, we will be sending out a survey to confirm your pledge. In that survey, make sure to specify which add-ons you added to your pledge. In addition, you can send us a message to confirm which add-on(s) you included in your pledge.

Add $25 to your pledge if you are in the US or Canada. For International backers, add an additional $5 for shipping costs.
If you like the look and feel of the art created by Ian O'Toole, these 12" x 16" posters make for a great addition. You can add as many posters as you like to your pledge. (Shipped folded in half.)

There are consistently games in development that we fall head-over-heels for at VPG, and Nemo's War: Second Edition is absolutely one of those games. With rich narrative driven gameplay and stunning visuals from Ian O'Toole, we feel that this game deserves the Victory Point Games Premier Line treatment. In order to do that, we have to utilize an out of house printer for this project. The physical prototype for Dawn of the Zeds: Third Edition has proven to be high quality, and we want the same thing for Nemo's War: Second Edition.
We are working with Ship Naked to get the best possible shipping rates for everyone. Essentially, this is done through shipping zones. The shipping zone that you live in determines how much shipping you will pay. This is much cheaper for you than if we were to ship everything from our office in Costa Mesa, CA, and allows us to provide discounts that we wouldn’t be able to provide otherwise.
Here are the shipping rates for Nemo's War: Second Edition:
All sales are final. Victory Point Games is working with ShipNaked, who will handle all claims for damaged packages/goods to backers.
Anyone who would like to place a bulk order, such as retailers or distributors, should contact us directly at distribution[at]victorypointgames[dot]com or through Kickstarter and we will be happy to work with you to get you set up with whatever you need.
If it wasn't for the following people, Nemo's War: Second Edition wouldn't be where it is today. THANK YOU!
Chris Taylor, Ian Wakeham, Wes Erni, Mo Mozzone, Ian O'Toole, and Lines Hutter.
This game is dedicated to the memory of Robert E. ("Bob") Emrich.
Risks and challenges
Due to the nature of out-of-house printing, it can be difficult to pinpoint a time when a finished project will be printed and delivered to you. Between file submissions and corrections, physical proof edits, to shipping from the printer to fulfillment (the list goes on), there are plenty of possibilities that could arise to delay our initial delivery date estimate. We have learned quite a bit from our previous Kickstarters, which should keep delays to a minimum.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
