Why all the Quiet?
If you’re a parent or watch suspense shows you notice when things are quiet… perhaps, too quiet.
So it has been with Dawn of the Zeds and its new expansions bring printed overseas. We have done more than a few “turnarounds” to ensure the little things go right (or, when dealing with printers at a distance, as right as you can reasonably hope). The box insert, the “feet” for the barricade standees… little things like that have consumed a lot of cycles.
Today, en route to the third edition designer, developer, and art director are new press proof copies of the “finished” game for our inspection and approval. Once we at last green skin, er… green light this project, the printer will excel (as they always do) with great work and assembly efficiency, and Zeds should approach the docks in China swiftly.
We are very eager to ensure that everything is A-okay. Don’t be surprised to see pictures or perhaps an “unboxing” video when we have those copies to share with you!
Caution: As veteran backers know, the rhythm of work in China is such that (pretty much) the entire country closes down for weeks to celebrate Chinese New Year (which officially begins February 5). This might still impact us, depending how quickly we can move on final approval (and, believe me, on our end, we are ready to move fast).
P.S. We found this sticky note from Otto “Sarge” Hauser: “VPG, stop messin’ around! And find more ammo!” We hear you, Sarge. We hear you…
