Have a question?
Yep. I'll be sending yours out in the next wave.
Are these still shipping out?
Any progress made on shipping since the last update on September 20?
Any status updates? It's been a while since we've heard any estimates.
Congrats on a successful kickstarter campaign! Looking forward to reading combines and mercs when they are completed!
The Secret DM, that's correct. I'll send out a survey which will clear up what you tacked on. You can always just message me, too.
I'm assuming the survey at the end of the Kickstarter will ask how I want my funding spent (planet names, extra book, etc.) but like Rich Rogers below, I just want to be sure, because I tacked on some things, assuming I understand what you meant with various reward levels and the "name a planet" thing that got added on.
hey Perrin, I wasn't sure how to notify you of the name a person or planet bit, but I pledged at the $10 level and kicked in an extra $20 to get two names.
I want a merc named Lively. I want a planet named Ork.
Do whatever you want with them!
Thanks Eric. I'm always amazed at my ability to turn 1 question into a 5 minute response. That's a talent!!! :)
Just listened to Jennisodes, another great podcast. The thing is you can hear your passion for the game and always upbeat and frank in the podcasts. Again congrats! Always good stuff.
That's all editing! I'm not nearly that articulate in real life. :)
Great interview on the Canon Puncture show Chris!
James, the April 18th update on the project home page says that you can add $18 to any order to get the softcover original Mecha RPG book along with whatever reward you chose. It's an $8 addition for a PDF add-on.
Hey James, $18 is the price of the Mecha core softcover (or the Mecha core PDF and the Combiners PDF.) Does that help?
Just a quick question, if I pledge at a higher level than the $18, do I also get the original book? I can't wait for GenCon to try out the Mecha game system!
Wow, you all seem as excited as I am!!
Woo Hoo 3k! Now lets hold that and keep it growing :)
Oh, right now I'm working on a series of blog posts on myheroicjourney.com to describe the roadmap so everyone knows what they're voting on.
Voting's not live yet. However, I'll be sending out a backer's only message once we hit $3,000. Then you can just reply to me what book you want.
I kind feel like it's premature to ask for votes until we cross the $3000 level. Though I could be persuaded to do it if we hit $2,900 just to be ready.
Just a question (posting here because probably others would like to know the same): in the latest updates you asked the backers to vote for a potential fourth book's theme. How do I do that? Do I just have to send a message, or something like that?
Me, too. I'm pushing as hard as I can. (Ab)using my social media contacts, going on another podcast this week, another next. If I might ask, would you please let your friends know and I'll keep doing the same! With 16 days left, I am sure we can make it.
Man I am hoping that we can hit the 3k stretch goal!
I'm very interested in the Sentai supplement, i find its a genre that doesn't get enough credit considering how popular it is. I've been using Fight! + for Sentai for a while now cause Fight does combat , its based on 2d Fighting Games and does the non-zord half of Sentai really well.
LOL. Thanks Eric! And don't press that button (or do, if you want! :)) In the meantime, there's some pretty good AP out there for the game and lots of fan hacks. Go to srssource.mecharpg.com or Google Mecha SRSes. That should whet your appetite! :)
From what I have read in the QuickStart it sounds like it will be right up my alley! Now if I can just hold off till the end of the kickstarter when you will be able to send out the pdf of the core rules... (button hovering over buy on drivethrurpg) (the waiting will be my doom heheh)!
Hey David, funny you should mention that. We already have a Sentai supplement in the wings!
And sorry I didn't get back to you sooner Eric, but yep we have character advancement. I think that's an important part of any game I design. I hope like it!
Ahhh never mind just read the QuickStart and it speaks of "an intuitive character advancement system". Ok now I am very excited to read the core and combiners rules! Really enjoyed the QuickStart. The rules seem very quick and I like the simplicity yet tactical bullseye battlemap system!
I am curious are there rules for character advancement?
I'm totaly going to use this to jury rig together a Sentai game, my last one was Fight! + Gumshoe and it worked for the street level stuff, but the next game is going to focus more on the zords, this looks like it might be just the ticket.
I just heard about this on The Podgecast. I love mecha anime and am very interested in trying this out!
Read a lot of good stuff about the original Mecha game so heck I am in for the original pdf and the combiners pdf :)!
Thanks Neal. I appreciate the backing and I'm sure David and the guys will be excited to know they have a listener. ;)
I just backed this project because I listened to you on the Podgecast.
Hey man, add an extra $18 to your order for a softcover or $8 for a PDF and I'll ship it out with your order.
How do I get a basic Mecha book and the Combiners book (hard or soft)?
