Help me make my first full-length record!Long story short, I started writing songs in 2004 and had some immediate online success with a song and video I produced called "(Didn't Know I Was) Unamerican." After spending a year or two trying to figure out what to do with that, I moved to Nashville three years ago to make my first full length record. After getting here, my job changed at my company, and I went from working 40-ish hours a week to 65+ and had to put my dream aside. Well, it's time to make that dream happen. I've taken a sabbatical from my company to record an album of songs. I have a bunch already written and am writing more every day. I'm asking for your help in giving me feedback about which songs should be on the record, supporting me financially and sharing my music with friends. I don't have the resources to pay for what it takes these days to make a fully-produced record. Studio time, engineers, session players, mixing engineer, mastering engineer, producers, designer... it adds up quickly, so I'm asking for your help.
Why this is so important to me:
I've always wanted to write songs. I started playing piano at age 8, but could never finish a song. For my entire life, all my "songs" would start with "I don't" "I can't" or "I won't" and that's about as far as they ever got. So up until 2004, I had never written or performed a song. Then I had an epiphany on New Year's Day 2004 that my life's calling was to create meaningful songs.
I'm on sabbatical from my job (and my paycheck) for a few months to focus on making this dream happen. I could spend most of my savings to make this record and go for broke, but I've learned that the real magic in life comes from people working together for something. So I'm asking for support from a lot of people in the hopes that enough of them will contribute to helping make this dream come true.
How you can help:
1) pre-order the CD for $25 (it's a lot of a CD, but think of it more as a brick that builds a foundation to make this possible)
2) share me ("Like" my music page, tweet me, etc.)
3) consider kicking down a little extra oomph in the dollar department.
How Kickstarter Works:
Kickstarter will only charge you if enough people have pledged to conribute the fundraising goal. If I don't reach my fundraising goal within 30 days, the project won't get funded and I won't be making this record any time soon.
Your support makes it possible.
Kickstart a dream.
