About

What Kind Ball is a video game in development for the iPhone and Android markets.  The game play is simple, but becomes challenging as more unique balls are introduced, and levels evolve to provide new sets of obstacles.

What Kind Ball is simple to play!  First, players select where to drop their ball within a designated drop zone.  Once the ball is dropped, it will go wherever physics take it!  Players will be able to cycle between different balls, while the ball is in play, each ball with it's own unique properties, altering how the ball behaves within the environment.

Players hit the right and left sides of the screen to cycle through the available types of balls.  If you have two thumbs and rock, you can play What Kind Ball!

During the time of campaigning, I plan on designing more and more balls, obstacles, and levels.  Once the game has been outlined, I plan on revamping the graphics.  The graphics shown in the video above are placeholders only, I'm looking to polish the game up before sending it off to the marketplace.  I'm hoping to have the game at 100% by June of this year, with updates and more levels to follow.

As the game stands, some of the already designed balls and objects are:

Blue Ball - Standard rolling ball

Anti-Grav Ball - Is pulled upwards instead of down
Anti-Grav Ball - Is pulled upwards instead of down
Bouncy Ball - Bounces when hits the ground
Bouncy Ball - Bounces when hits the ground
Ghost Ball - Travels through walls
Ghost Ball - Travels through walls
Ghost Block - Reverses the direction of the Ghost Ball when hit
Ghost Block - Reverses the direction of the Ghost Ball when hit
Speed Block - Speeds up balls when hit
Speed Block - Speeds up balls when hit

I'd like to make games in my spare time, and I dream about being able to do it as a career, but one step at a time.  If you've made it this far, then I already thank you for taking the time to give my dream a read.  Thank you!

Risks and challenges

This is the first app I'm looking to develop and place on both Apple's and Google's markets. I'm confident I have the know how to get this project completed from start to finish, but I will be experiencing the process for the first time.

The only thing I can say about that is that there is only potential for delays, not cancellations.
