Art of the Genre is invested in bringing its backers the very best adventure possible, and with the release of Folio #14 and the beginning of the epic White Ship Campaign, we wanted to be sure that the mysterious Isle of Jade had even more adventures built into it. Thus, to expand your low level experience, we are looking to bring out WS 1.5 The Pearl of Madness and WS 1.7 Candon Shaman of the Dark Fen.
With this special week-long Kickstarter we are trying to finish up these two mini-adventures to expand on the events that take place in Folio #14. We also hope that if you are simply looking for some cool encounters set on a tropical island, these adventures will fill that void.
What are in the mini-adventures? Each mini-adventure is roughly 10 encounter points in a scenario that blends in with the main Folio adventure it corresponds to. This includes maps, and statistics in both classic AD&D and 5th Edition D&D. However, the also work as stand alone encounters for other ongoing campaigns.
What is The Pearl of Madness? This mini-adventure sets the heroes on a pearl dive with local villagers. They boat to a secluded cove in search of easy treasure, but corruptions on the island have recently taken root among the merfolk and the players will need to find a way to stave off the necrotic energies that are overwhelming the sea life in the area.
What happens in Candon Shaman of the Dark Fen? In this small adventure, the heroes must stop a Candon lizardman from raising an army of reptiles before he can overwhelm the only native village remaining on the Isle of Jade. Taking on the murderous creatures of the dark fen and defeating the shaman should solidify the relationship of the players and the natives.
What is the Folio? The Folio is a OSR inspired adventure path that incorporates both 1E and 5E Dungeons & Dragons mechanics. Currently, three full campaigns exist within its volumes including the six part Roslof Keep Campaign, as well as the Hidden Valoria Trilogy and the Taux Trilogy. In total, there are 14 Folios available in this Kickstarter as well as 14 corresponding mini-adventures to supplement them. That's a lot of gaming!
So what are our stretch goals?
$1000: Iconic Character Leia of Taux: Yes indeed our lovely and talented magic-user will be made available to players, in both 1E and 5E detail.
$1500: WS1.6 The Dragon's Spine: In this mini-adventure, designed for use after the events at the Amazonian Tower, the heroes will be faced with the difficult climb over the mountains known as the Dragon's Back, but what evil might lurk at the crest, only few will know.
