I want to provide you with awesome and upgraded OSR 1E AD&D gaming content, while also giving you the option to enjoy the new landscape of 5E Dungeons & Dragons if you choose. My goal is always to quickly and efficiently deliver our products so that you can enjoy them without getting into a waiting game or feel overburdened with lengthy text. I mean, remember, no 1980s module was more than 35 pages, and a classic like G2 Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl was only 8, but it was pure genius! Plus, all backers have the option getting PDF versions as well for easy reference on their computers, tablets, and smart phones!
I’ve already created & fulfilled thirteen fantastic Folio adventures right here on Kickstarter. Now I want to create the first part of my epic 'White Ship' mega campaign that rivals the six part Roslof Keep. At AotG, we are about quality, content, and speed, and I like to think of myself as a time machine that can bridge the gap between things I loved in the past and what technology can bring us today.
Instead of making gaming anvils, I’ve drilled the artistry of the game down, found the gems of an extended campaign, and delivered it in such a way that both new and old gamers alike can enjoy and play without taxing their life schedules. In the end, isn’t gaming about being fun for everyone, not just the players? The Folio’s goal is to ensure that, and always give folks the very best quality ‘lean and mean’ adventures we can.
My Project: The Folio #14 is a 1st Edition AD&D & 5th Edition D&D combined gaming module. It will be produced as an 8x11”, removable cover [11x17" once removed], adventure with mostly b/w interior artwork. There are two interior booklets, The Gazetteer and The Dungeon, with the final size being roughly 32 pages of content.
Who’s it for? ALL gamers, both new gamers and old gamers as it is easily expandable or playable as is.The concept is to allow gamers a starting point for adventure that can be modified to their liking while providing excellent reference content and framework. The base mechanic will be for 1st Edition with 5th Edition insets, but I’ve designed it to be readily modified to any fantasy game, and don't forget the PDF!
What’s in it? All original content built in the Art of the Genre world of the Nameless Realms. Incorporating tidbits from previous Folios such as Roslof Keep and the Taux Trilogy, this new adventure will allow players to start at 1st level as they set out in search of the notorious necromancer Molo of the Thirteen wives. Incorporating my love of ocean adventures, epic exploration of distant cultures, and delving into the past with cursed ships and rampaging dinosaurs, this adventure is everything I ever wanted TSR's X1 The Isle of Dread to be, but was disappointed in upon playing it.
When? As always, we aim to get these out to our backers fast, so we plan on a June delivery of physical copies with a likely May delivery of PDF.the bulk of the module is complete, we only need to be funding so we can begin the full printing process.
What is the White Ship? This legendary vessel is the last of the stone ships of Uthoria, the ancient home of the corsair sorcerer kings and their dwarven allies. It is said to be made completely of white marble and the size of a small city. Sailors dread fog banks on the open ocean as they say that is where the cursed ship dwells. Molo has taken a noble of ancient corsair bloodline to draw the ship to him so that he might conquer it, and the world, and only the heroes have the ability to stop him.

Risks and challenges
As a fantasy fiction imprint working exclusively on Kickstarter, Art of the Genre has produced and fulfilled seven novels using this platform as well as delivering 12 editions of The Folio, 2 Folio Digital Quarterlies, and the Roslof Keep Hardcover early to all backers. One thing that all backers should understand is that although we will provide The Folio #14 by June 2017, in physical form, further stretch goals might come later, although this has yet to happen in our 5 year history on the platform.
Please remember, this is a personal passion project for all the authors and artists involved, so we are as anxious as our backers to see these volumes become a reality as quickly as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
