WHAT IS "PROJECT DAEDALUS"?
Project Daedalus is the working title of a horror themed "First Person Dungeon Crawl" videogame for PC. It's heavily inspired by 90s RPG, and you can see this inspiration in a couple of details. First of all, we haven't used a 3D engine to make this game. But we haven't used pixel art neither; instead, we choose to make every image in the game using digital painting techniques. It's a modern way to develop a game like this using "classic" 2D graphic, and we thought that it's a proper way to pay homage to this genre of RPG.
Another way to recall old-school masterpieces is to make a tough game. Project Daedalus is a game for hardcore RPG fans. You will die, and you will die a lot. And every time you die, your character is forever lost; indeed permadeath is one of the key features in the game. But every time you will start a new character, he will be a little stronger than the one that is just died. He will have more resources, better attributes and better equipment.
Another key feature of Project Daedalus is the horror theme. Your characters will live into a nightmare, where every enemy is an incarnation of fear and phobia. To escape from this nightmare, you have to complete every dungeon in the game. The story is told using cutscenes - in a visual novel style - and it's about a man who chose to kill himself; while he's dying, he must deal with his fears and deepest memories for one last time.
ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY
Project Daedalus is a deep cRPG. First of all, you have to create your character. You can distribute STAT POINTS to increase the 6 main attributes (STRENGTH, INTELLECT, BODY, MIND, SPEED, LUCK). Then you can choose some SKILLS to increase. There are 16 skills in the game:

- BLUNT WEAPONS
- POLE WEAPONS
- THROWING WEAPONS
- TWIN WEAPONS
- LIGHT ARMOR
- HEAVY ARMOR
- BLACK MAGIC
- WHITE MAGIC
- ELEMENTAL MAGIC
Skill value increases every time you use that skill, but you can choose to set some Skill Experience Points in the character creation phase to distinguish your alter ego. Then, you can choose a trait, that give to your character some unique ability. Before entering the dungeon, you can take some equipment, but only if previous character have left something in the common storage.
Now you can explore the dungeon. The exploration is turn-based and combats aren't randomly generated: you will see enemies on the map, and you have to approach them to start to fight. Combat is turn-based too and like our other games ("Mazes of Karradash" series for iOS and Android devices) you have to balance your attacks/defence commands because every time you swing your weapon you lose Stamina, and If you have few Stamina your enemy will attack many times in a row while you are exhausted.
You can use spells to fight your enemy, improve your attributes, summon companions, reveal hidden stuff and much more. There are more than 50 spells in the game, divided in 5 schools of magic. The spell-casting system is based on magic formulas: if you know the 4 letters formula you can cast the spell. If you don't know any formula, you can search the dungeon for clues and learn some new spells.
ABOUT THE STORY
As said, your character is dying: he cut his wrists, and he's now in a state of near-death. In this limbo made of dungeons and monsters, he's living through different alter ego. Every time your character lose all his HP, another alter ego will take his place, with different attributes and perks. Every alter ego shares the same goal: exploring the subconscious to find the real cause of the suicide attempt. And they will find the secret hidden in the last and deepest dungeon.
HOW WILL YOU USE THE MONEY?
Most of the money will be used for graphics and artworks. Digital painting is not a cheap choice to produce graphic for videogame and even create just a small animation can be a slow and expensive work. Other money will be used for translations, software licenses and Kickstarter Rewards.
WHO IS MAKING THIS GAME?
Game designer, programmer, musician, owner of 68k Studios. He works in the videogame industry since 2011. He has recently published a Roguelike RPG on Steam (Karradash - The Lost Dungeons) and two Dungeon Crawl RPG for mobile devices ("Mazes of Karradash" and "Mazes of Karradash 2"; you can read some review here and here).
Graphic artist. He worked as inker for Marvel ("Spider-man", "Wolverine and the X-Men"), DC Comics ("Catwoman", "Midnighter", "Action Comics") and IDWpublishing ("True Blood", "Star Trek", "Infestation"); as illustrator he worked for Watson Edizioni and La Corte Editore.

The game will be published on STEAM® and it has to pass a review process before it appears in the store. But we've already published other games on this platform so we already know how this process works.
