About this project
Thank you so much!!! In just 6 days, we've already hit our goal £4000. But that doesn't mean that the campaign comes to an end. We've still got three more weeks to raise as much money towards Atlas as possible.
This campaign was going to be for the funding of just one print issue, The Brisk Issue. Now that I can guarantee the funding of that, I want to announce a stretch goal of £6000. If that goal is achieved, I will be able to guarantee the release of The Adrenaline Issue (our second print issue) in March 2015.
So please continue to spread the word! Tell your friends, your family, your neighbours, your twitter followers, Instagram followers, Facebook friends, and anyone else you think might want to see the work of up and coming fashion creatives!
The goal behind Atlas is to provide a platform where fashion creatives from any background and anywhere in the world can come and showcase their work to a wide and inspired audience. We bring together the inspiring work of fashion photographers, stylists, designers, journalists, graphic designers, illustrators, and anyone else creative, giving them a chance at crucial exposure for the advancement of their careers. We seek to inspire and help the creatives of tomorrow achieve their goals.
Atlas Magazine was created two years ago by me, Olivia Bossert, and by my friend Megan Breukelman. Meeting online and forming a bond over our mutual love for fashion, photography and magazines, Megan and I brought our passions together. We’d noticed that there were so many talented people around us who either couldn't get their foot in the door of the bigger magazines, or who were not being taken seriously. Megan and I strongly believe that great work deserves to be seen.
Despite our (very) long-distance friendship, we have now successfully produced nine online issues which have collectively been read over 1 million times. We’ve reached fashion fanatics from around the globe, while helping new talent get their name out there. We've been one of the main featured magazines by Issuu.com on their home page for the past year, and The Sharp Issue, launched in September 2014, has already been seen over 80,000 times. Want to see them for yourself? Head to issuu.com/theatlasmagazine to read all our back issues.
Now Atlas needs your help. Megan and I are ready to take Atlas to the next level, transforming it from purely online magazine to a tangible publication. Atlas is going to print.
The Brisk Issue has been in development for a long time now. The work has been collected (it’s all beautiful!), the printing company has been chosen, and the e-reader apps are being created. It’s ready to go.
We will be producing 1000 limited edition print copies of Atlas’ Brisk Issue, available for purchase from various stockists around London, Cornwall and to order online. We later intend to expand distribution, including overseas. Atlas will also be available on all e-reader platforms including the Apple Newsstand, Kindle Fire, Google Play, etc.
What the Money Will be Used For:
- Printing magazines is highly expensive business. We want to produce a beautiful, high quality, collectable item. Our contributors are highly talented individuals who deserve to be showcased in the finest way.
- Marketing and publicity: we've got a lovely, huge, dedicated community of followers but we want it to be even bigger!
- Distribution of the magazine.

Risks and challenges
The only risk could be a delay in the printing or distribution of the magazine. However, we feel this is unlikely to occur since we are super organised and have ensured ourselves plenty of time to deal with anything unexpected.
