You are the boss and you get to decide...
Happy and loyal employees or slave-like conditions to maximize your profits? Optimize the productivity of each employee or hire more and more? Your choice!
ManageManiac will be a management game with a focus on economy simulation... as well as a bit of humor, because we are afraid some of you think of management as a dry subject...
The game will be released for Windows-PC, Linux and Mac.
See your account balance rise faster and faster (ingame of course, we are no magicians...) as you hire more employees. Maximize your earnings and minimize your expenses. Buy working equipment, issue new company regulations or simply invest in more goods to fill your warehouse. We plan on giving away gift cards (e.g. from sites that sell our game) or other little gifts to people who earn the most money in a defined period of time.
Ingame-time is real-time Watch your employees through surveillance cameras in the office if you play during their working hours. Your employees will work even when you are not in the game and even if you don't play for a couple of days, you will still find produced goods in your warehouse as long as you have enough materials.
`
Free health insurance or shock collar for employees? Your choice!
Unlock new stuff for your office and the other rooms, new working equipment, company regulations and more!
Find the employees that fit your way of running the company best. Over 40 different employee features Over 30 different employee characteristics Each feature and characteristic affects productivity, loyalty, science or has other unique effects; additionally, every employee has their own wage expectations (this doesn't mean you can't reduce it after you have hired them), productivity, loyalty and science. Change the working hours of your employees, let them do overtime or let them work during your usual gaming time.
Productivity
How many goods can your employees process per hour?
´
Loyalty
Are your employees loyal to you? Better make sure they don't quit their jobs. Or be 100% sure and chain them to their desks...
´
Unlock new equipment, regulations and more by researching
´
Employee characteristic overview % = Chance for an employee to develop a characteristic after he/she is hired.
`
Like company regulations, working equipment can affect the company, the employees or have other unique effects.
It's Valentine's Day? How could that affect the prices for jewellery and "adult toys"?
The ingame trading platform provides you with the opportunity to buy & sell goods. Resell the goods for a higher price or let your employees produce something even more valuable from the materials!
12 different goods, of which 10 can be produced and 2 are raw materials. Each good has a certain production difficulty which determines how many goods will be processed per hour. (4 end-products, 6 manufactured products and 2 resources)
Make the most of what you've got by checking you statistics and seeing what you can improve. Profit isn't high enough? Check where you can cut costs or how to improve your output!
For what purpose will the Kickstarter money be used?
We are a bunch of 3D Artists who studied together. Most of the graphics and 3D models are made by us; none of the money from the initial goal will go in our pockets.
Most of the money will go here. A company we are working together with is willing to do the programming for us.
Only a small amount of money will go here. The voices, which are mostly for ingame answering machines and ingame phone calls are made by freelancers and/or from films in the public domain. The ingame music will be public domain music - mostly from the 20s and 30s. One of the stretch goals could be to incorporate an extended soundtrack.
A good (or not so good) amount of money goes here.
.
The development is going well, but there are always some risks:
The most obvious risks are delays in development and increased costs.
We aim for a december release, however, due to our small team size small delays can occur if someone gets sick or can't come to work for some reason.
It doesn't really endanger the game and the worst case would be an early 2016 release.
Another risk for the project are increased costs. However, our company generates money from other sources than kickstarter and we calculated the costs very conscientiously.
Unless all of our computers and our equipment breaks down in the next months, increased costs don't endanger the game either.
We are aiming for a december release date.
Since we want ManageManiac to run well on a broad range of systems, we are trying to make the game run smoothly on mid and even low range machines.
It will be as soon as we reach our initial goal. Unfortunately, it is not possible to pledge with PayPal on Kickstarter, but we plan on starting an Indiegogo campaign when we reach the initial goal, allowing you the ability to pay via PayPal if preferred.
ManageManiac is planned as a single player only game at the moment...
However, we are currently thinking about how we can change the single player trading platform to an online platform where you can trade your goods with other players.
We are thinking about Oculus Rift and SteamVR support as a stretch goal.
To be honest, I personally would love to have Oculus Rift and SteamVR support, in order to enhance the feeling of being the manager and really sitting in the office.
We have a couple of texts you can use. If you want to say something else you can send the text to us so we can ensure that it doesn't contain insulting or illegal content.
We have some ideas for stretch goals:
An online trading platform where you can trade your goods with other players. (in addition to the normal singleplayer trading platform) The online trading platform would, of course still only work with ingame money.
An improved Soundtrack (currently we use public domain music (mostly from the 20s and 30s..))
Oculus Rift and SteamVR support
Some minigames on the ingame computer
However, we will look into stretch goals once we reach our initial goal.
