More Theaters & More Links. Plus: Another MTV Vote-Off!

I'm still in Vancouver, and the end of shooting on the iZOMBIE pilot is approaching quickly, so I'll keep this brief.

Today, three more quick updates, covering new theatrical locations, a few more links, and a last-minute chance to help establish Veronica as a dark horse candidate for the MTV Movie Awards.

New Theaters for Week 4

We're now entering the fourth weekend since Veronica Mars was released, which means that -- in many locations -- the movie's theatrical run has ended, or will soon. (If you've been meaning to see the movie in a theater, and it's still playing near you, you might want to get tickets while you still can.)

But since we want as many backers as possible to have a chance to see the movie in theaters, Warner Bros. is still working to bring the movie to a few more theatrical markets in the United States.

Starting today, Veronica Mars will add theatrical screenings in (or near) these locations:

  • IA: Davenport
  • IA: Shreveport
  • MO: Columbia
  • MN: Rochester
  • NE: Lincoln

Finally, while I don't expect we'll be able to add many more locations after this weekend, we are still working on 1-2 final locations – so Hawaiian backers, don't give up just yet. No promises, but I'm hoping we'll have good news for you soon.

MTV Movie Awards: Veronica for Best Character?

A few months ago, I invited you to help our movie win the MTV Movie Brawl. The Hunger Games had us on the ropes. A week later, we won the entire tournament.

Now, Veronica is facing an even more difficult challenge, as the underdog challenger for "Best Character" in this year's MTV Movie Awards. Sure, it's an honor just to be nominated, but right now, we're in last place, and facing some really stiff competition. I don't know whether we can win, but I'll tell you this: I'm betting we can get out of last place. We've got one week left until the MTV Movie Awards, so if you want to remind MTV to never undercount the sassy, here's another chance.

To cast a vote, just include #VoteVeronicaMars in any tweet – and you can vote as many times as you want between now and Sunday, April 13.

And, fun fact: the 2014 MTV Movie Awards will be held on April 13… exactly one year after our Kickstarter campaign ended.

Video from PaleyFest! A podcast from KCRW!

Finally, a few more links for anyone suffering Veronica Mars withdrawal.

If you weren't able to catch the livestream of our panel at PALEYFEST, we're still waiting to find out whether we can get a full video to share with you.

For now, the Paley Center has posted this excerpt:

Or, if you prefer listening to watching, KCRW's The Business podcast has a fun segment about Veronica, Kickstarter, and what our movie might mean for the future.

That's all for now. More next week, gang.

Yay, #voteveronicamars is no longer last! (81k vs 78k). Voting continues through next Sunday night, though. Also kinda fun watching katniss versus tris in 1st & 2nd. They've been neck-and-neck, currently at 2.3M votes each.

@Heather when you click on vote, you aren't actually voting until you post your vote to twitter. You can get on twitter and type #voteveronicamars. That is a vote. Twitter won't let you post duplicate tweets so people put letters or numbers before or after #voteveronicamars. To make it more interesting we try to do themes. Last night we used movie titles and VM-ified them. Like Sleepless in Neptune #voteveronicamars.

Definitely need more ways to vote on the MTV Awards than just Twitter. Lots of us don't have Twitter accounts and don't want one.

I'm not sure I understand the voting. I have a twitter account (only cuz my niece made me), but I don't know how to use it. I click on vote but I don't know if my votes actually going through. Would love to help Veronica win, so I'll just keep pushing the button.

Seriously, I've searched all of Rochester MN and surrounding area and have had NO luck. It's one thing not to have it showing near me but another to be told it IS and can't find it *stifles sob* Excuse the emotional, pregnant woman 8^(

I think Veronica STILL undercounted the SASSY in "The Rapes of Graff" — I think the sassy my favorite of Veronica's traits. It's too bad you can only vote by tweeting because I don't have or want a twitter account. I probably voted between 3 and 400 times in the Movie Brawl but I'll be shut out of voting this time around. :-(

An entire night voting, and yesterday and the day before too :) come on guys we are the Marshmellow, we can do everything! !! Ps Rob I received the book and digital version too, thanks for all your stories!

Any chance for theaters in RI? The closest is Framingham, MA, which is long way to go in Boston-area traffic ...

It says Rochester, MN but I can't find it at any of the theatres here! Help! I want to see it again on the big screen without having to drive to the Twin Cities. Thanks!

    19. Jill on April 4, 2014

Hi Rob, hope the pilot is coming together well. Curious if you had any kind of "real" numbers from WB about VOD/theater screenings, etc. now that a couple of weeks have passed?

    20. Gary Phillips
      on April 4, 2014

Actually it is in Seward, NE (Pop 7,043) Not Lincoln, NE…
And this is not an AMC mega screen theatre till late last year they only had one screen they now have two.
And I'll be going to see it again since I live about 2 Blocks from this theatre and I told them they wouldn't be able to get it and went to Omaha, NE during the first week. Well they showed me. So if it is not showing close to you go talk to the theatre in your town and ask them to get and it might show up which will also make Rob happy. :)

I wish there was a different way to vote....I have no idea how to work twitter and I have no desire to know either!

    22. Cynthia M Burns on April 4, 2014

Why does Warner Bros hate Virginia? Yes, I saw the movie on pay per view but I would love to see it in the theater, where movies are meant to be seen.

    23. Triana Biggers on April 4, 2014

I just wanted you to know, Rob, that The Million Dollar Tan Line was just what I needed after watching the movie. Can't wait for future novels of Veronica's adventures. Thanks will never express how truly grateful I am. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
