More Theaters & More Links. Plus: Another MTV Vote-Off!
I'm still in Vancouver, and the end of shooting on the iZOMBIE pilot is approaching quickly, so I'll keep this brief.
Today, three more quick updates, covering new theatrical locations, a few more links, and a last-minute chance to help establish Veronica as a dark horse candidate for the MTV Movie Awards.
New Theaters for Week 4
We're now entering the fourth weekend since Veronica Mars was released, which means that -- in many locations -- the movie's theatrical run has ended, or will soon. (If you've been meaning to see the movie in a theater, and it's still playing near you, you might want to get tickets while you still can.)
But since we want as many backers as possible to have a chance to see the movie in theaters, Warner Bros. is still working to bring the movie to a few more theatrical markets in the United States.
Starting today, Veronica Mars will add theatrical screenings in (or near) these locations:
- IA: Davenport
- IA: Shreveport
- MO: Columbia
- MN: Rochester
- NE: Lincoln
Finally, while I don't expect we'll be able to add many more locations after this weekend, we are still working on 1-2 final locations – so Hawaiian backers, don't give up just yet. No promises, but I'm hoping we'll have good news for you soon.
MTV Movie Awards: Veronica for Best Character?
Now, Veronica is facing an even more difficult challenge, as the underdog challenger for "Best Character" in this year's MTV Movie Awards. Sure, it's an honor just to be nominated, but right now, we're in last place, and facing some really stiff competition. I don't know whether we can win, but I'll tell you this: I'm betting we can get out of last place. We've got one week left until the MTV Movie Awards, so if you want to remind MTV to never undercount the sassy, here's another chance.
To cast a vote, just include #VoteVeronicaMars in any tweet – and you can vote as many times as you want between now and Sunday, April 13.
And, fun fact: the 2014 MTV Movie Awards will be held on April 13… exactly one year after our Kickstarter campaign ended.
Video from PaleyFest! A podcast from KCRW!
Finally, a few more links for anyone suffering Veronica Mars withdrawal.
If you weren't able to catch the livestream of our panel at PALEYFEST, we're still waiting to find out whether we can get a full video to share with you.
For now, the Paley Center has posted this excerpt:
Or, if you prefer listening to watching, KCRW's The Business podcast has a fun segment about Veronica, Kickstarter, and what our movie might mean for the future.
That's all for now. More next week, gang.
