Up until this point I have been fortunate enough to be able to pay for all of the supplies needed to create my collection and other little things along the way, but now I need your help getting it showcased and producing project magazines!
What is my project?
My project is to showcase 16 different looks of my eco-friendly Spring/Summer 2014 collection at the Sugar "Secret Society" Art and Fashion show (NYFW) and raise the money needed for myself, as well as a minimum of five other team members to go. I have received great feedback from what I have already produced and would like to pursue my dream further.
Who else is on board to support this glamorous vision?
A very supportive fashion community in Spokane, WA who previously helped send a local designer to NYFW last year, are willing to do so again this year. With high hopes of sending myself, and my design team, we ask for your support as well.
WTF! Fashion Magazine will be featuring this collection in a fashion editorial in the October 2013 issue as well as highlights of the Sugar Art and Fashion show.
Rachel Mace, of Totally Trashed Fashion, whose collection was featured in last year's Sugar Art And Fashion Show during NYFW 2012, has been a mentor and supporter.
What is special about Alyssa, the designer?
Alyssa is a very talented designer, who differentiates from the main stream market. She fills a niche in the design world with her artistic attention to detail on every single unique design. Her styles are classic, feminine while at the same time sensually edgy. Each piece is created to be comfortable as well as empower the woman who looks in the mirror when they put on Alyssa's clothes. These are tailor made and most often literally built right on the individual. This ensures that every curve is covered just the way it should be.
Alyssa has been a part of the fashion industry for over thirteen (13) years. Starting off her career as a teen model, behind the scenes had always captivated Alyssa once even telling herself that she would be the one in production someday. After years of modeling, she began assisting at fashion shows, helping style at photo shoots and assisting in planning charity fashion shows. She is now both a jewelry and clothing designer, as well as an artist – she started a jewelry business at age nineteen which is still on the upswing. The business focused on One-Of-A-Kind pieces created from vintage, salvaged and upcycled materials to keep her green business' footprint as small and unique as possible. After years of mastering jewelry design, and feeling that jewelry just wasn't a large enough canvas for the scale on which she wanted to use so many beautiful materials, she decided to begin designing clothing as well. Not leaving the jewelry market but simply expanding on her creative abilities, she is now designing jewelry, clothing, shoes and handbags.
In December of 2012, a friend who was aware of her strong desire to design clothing, offered her the opportunity to be one of six (6) designers in a local fashion show whose grass roots beginnings from six years ago energized the local fashion community to produce their best designs and an opportunity to expand their creativity. After several months of sketching and buying materials, she knew she had to start sewing her collection. For someone who had never sewn before, this was going to be quite a task and an adventure at the same time. But she was extremely determined to bring to life the images that she had only been dreaming about for years. After four crazy months of sewing tailor made dresses, dozens of photo shoots and marketing her brand, she was blessed with the opportunity to show the collection during NYFW at the Sugar Art and Fashion show! This speaks volumes about her hard work and determination to make this dream a reality, as she did not apply for this but was invited to participate.
Why should you support this project?
Because Eco Chic is just that -- enviromentally friendly and fashionable. Each piece is a One-Of-A-Kind wardrobe upgrade in the closet for yourself or as a thoughtful gift for a special someone. You will love the quality, craftsmanship and tailor made uniqueness for years to come. And all of the products are skillfully handcrafted in the U.S.A.
With your funding you support an incredibly talented designer, and allow the world to get to know her better as well as help her dreams come true. She will still have a lot of work to do to continue fundraising for this campaign, as this is just the beginning, but with your generosity she will be able to take a giant leap forward, not only for her but budding designers, artists and craftsmen like herself.
At this time, all of the clothing for this collection is already designed and created by Alyssa. It has also been approved for showing at the Sugar Art and Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week. The jewelry for this collection has already been made by one of our team members specifically to match each dress. Our hard working models have all helped the design team in any way possible and that is why rather than only asking for the funds to go by herself, we are trying to raise enough to bring as many team members as possible to this show. She wouldn't have made it this far without them and we can't make it any farther without you!
With kickstarter, it's all or nothing. If we do not reach our goal, we do not receive any funding! Sharing our project with your friends and family is equally important. One of the easiest ways to share our project is through Facebook and Twitter. Simply click the FB "share" button or the twitter button under our project video.
We know that two weeks is a very short amount of time to raise the funds but we were just informed of this honor as of July 31, 2013. We are confident with your help we can make this dream a reality.
Thank you for your interest in our project! We can't wait to share our passion with you.
There is more detailed information below. Check out all of the amazing rewards with kickstarter special prices. Thank you so much for your incredibly generous support. Please spread the word.
With deepest gratitude,

Risks and challenges
With the clothing and jewelry collection already made, we have shot all but 2 of our 14 looks. We have scheduled time to commit to this incredible opportunity and we already have all of the inventory for the rewards (except for the magazines). Which we must wait until after the show to produce, as images of the fashion show and journey are apart of it. The cost for producing the magazines, not just for rewards but for the team and as something we can sell to help fund our next fashion show, is covered in the cost of what we are asking for here.
We did not ask for as much as we need to take the entire team but only 5 members. This is due to the fact that you can exceed your goal on kickstarter but if you don't reach your goal, you get nothing.
We have done all of the research on the cost of hotel rooms, airfare and daily expenses for this trip.
The only risk that we are taking is that, we are relying on the support of generous believers to get us there as we simply can't do ourselves. With that, we ask you to please donate anything at all to get us to the next level in our careers. Thank you for your time.
