All grown out! Last few days.
In case you do not follow the puzzle headquarters and diary at http://1000woodcuts.blogspot.com, I just recently posted an updated stretched sketch of our (wait for it...) EIGHT PANEL print!
With the amazing response and 145 artists signed up, that's already too many for six panels. So I stretched the sketch and I think it actually looks better this way. I added some things and fine tuned some others.
As many of you know, the sketch will change again as I transfer it to the woodblocks, and probably again as I cut out each little piece.
So, some FAQs
Q: How big is my piece?
A: 5 to 6 inches in diameter, 12-16 cm, irregular in shape
Q: What type of wood are we using?
A: Cherry plywood, 3/4 inch or just short of 2 cm thick with a thin layer of cherry veneer on both sides
Q: What is the deadline for return of blocks to you?
A: August 1st, or last day of July, whichever you prefer. I like to conceptualize that it is due end of July 2015.
That's it for now! Five days left!
I quit pushing on the marketing because, frankly, we have enough artists. But if some should sneak in at the last moment, so be it. Also, backers are still welcomed and can get cool books and other puzzle goodies so poke someone if you want.
Wood is on the way to my studio and this weekend I will be building a large "easel-stand" to hold up the blocks! How fun.
