It all started ten years ago when I was just 12 years old. There was a shaved ice truck that was setup in a parking lot close to my house. My family and I frequented it often and I ended up working there during the summer. I have always had fond memories of going to festivals and events. Ever since then I have wanted to have my own shaved ice trailer!
Fortunately for me, I very recently had a great loan offer from a friend that has covered the cost of the trailer, after mentioning my dream of starting a concession truck. When the trailer arrives though, there will be nothing in it! There are a lot of little things needed to get this show on the road. No one item costs very much by itself, but together it is a fair sum. Therefore, your money will be funding:
Shaved Ice Machine- $1,200
Bottles, pour spouts, etc.- $200
Cups, straws, spoons, etc.- $300
Kickstarter Rewards, shipping, etc.- $1000
Kickstarter and Amazon cuts- $300
When the project is completed Yeti Concessions will be traveling across the Southeast to different festivals and fairs. We will also have the ability to attend food truck events, corporate events and parties. Finally, we plan on frequenting regional burns to give back to the community that has given me so much!

Blackout Dates and Other Important Info
The following information is for any backers choosing a Yeti Party! reward.
First, thank you for considering us for your birthday, company party or other event! After looking through the dates, please make your pledge then immediately email me with the date of your event. These will be taken on a first-come first-serve basis. You do not have to have the exact date at the time of your pledge, but events will be reserved and blacked out in the order they are e-mailed to me after the pledge, (regardless of the order that pledges are received). After you give me the date of your event I will add it to the list of blackout dates below.
All weekends during May 2013 are currently booked (a list of the events we are attending is on our website: http://yeticoncessions.moonfruit.com/#/find-us/4574807362). Weekday (Mon.-Thurs.) events can be held anytime after May 6, 2013. Only Yeti Party! pledges $600 and up will be available to request weekend events (Fri-Sun). Below are other dates that are unavailable.

Risks and challenges
With Yeti Concessions, everything is about timing right now. All the paperwork must be filed, the truck must be brought home from Florida after its completion at which point the concession equipment has to be added, along with signage and then be approved by the health inspector. Fortunately, any hitches along the way with these things will not effect the backers. Only the Yeti Party! rewards are directly connected to the completion of the trailer, and I have allowed an extra two weeks into the schedule (before any Yeti Parties can be reserved), in case problems do arise. All other rewards are not directly affected by any delays to the truck.
I have already chosen first and second choice t-shirt, button and cup manufacturers to ensure a quick turn around on all awards after the Kickstarter ends. I have plenty of shipping experience, both domestically and internationally (from my current job), to get the awards out once I have received them from suppliers. The only reward that might be a challenge is the handmade bracelets, depending on how many are ordered because I and one other person make the charms and attach them by hand. But, I will be making the bracelets as they are pledged throughout the Kickstarter, even before the goal is reached, to ensure that they will go out on time. And if the goal is not reached, I will sell them over the course of the season.
