"What if, to a child, what appeared to be an imaginary friend... were in fact his guardian angel?"
This is the simple idea behind Peter & Company, by Jonathan Ponikvar. In the story, Peter, a young cat, is having difficulty making it through his childhood in one piece. Suddenly he finds a new friend in the form of Seth, a white-suited duck. As Seth insists on staying by his side and begins helping him through his problems, Peter quickly realizes that he's the only one who can see him.
Seth, and others like him, are referred to simply as "Guardians." Other children in the comic also have Guardians, and they can openly speak to each other.
The ongoing comic, with close to 200 pages' worth of content, can be read in its entirety online for free at http://www.PeterandCompany.com!
The goal of this campaign is to create an animated pilot episode for Peter & Company with the intent of pitching the concept to television networks -- such as Nickelodeon, the HUB, or Cartoon Network -- or even as a distributed online series through channels such as Frederator! Working alongside Spark Flow Studios (http://www.sparkflowstudios.com), with your donations, we will create a 10-12 minute finished episode, with an original script written exclusively for this project.
It is our hope to get Peter & Company into living rooms across the country and around the world!
