About this project
Once upon a time, a little guy named Vinnie was flipping through an issue of AstroMag*, when he saw this comment from the executive officer:
"Creationists who believe the world is 6,000 years old are very ignorant..."
And that sorta got him thinking. As a Christian as well as an armchair astronomer, he believed that God made the entire universe in six days, about 6,000 years ago. And being called "ignorant" wasn't exactly his fancy, so to speak.
Another thing he noticed about AstroMag was that the layout was kinda cluttered. Not very appealing to the eyes, and even worse for trying to find useful information. He also knew that, though there were several quality magazines on Creation science, there wasn't one that he knew of that focused on astronomy...
Now Vinnie didn't exactly want to get down into something that big that he'd have to do for the rest of his life... But then again, he couldn't just sit around and let everything happen around him. He had to get involved! He had to do something to STOP IT.
So he decided to start his own company, with a big informative website with members-only features, an online store, and (drum roll, please...) a magazine dedicated to creation-astronomers.
*name changed to avoid lawsuit
Yep- that's how it all started. Well, sort of-- I don't think that was a direct quote, and the idea was actually around long before the insulting editor showed up, but the insult sort of revived the passion. That and the fact that one astronomer had complained that all the astronomy magazines were full of evolutionary ideas, and another that some were so full of cluttered advertisments. So my brother (did I mention the little guy is my brother?) decided to put all the good stuff together and make a really good magazine.
The articles will be writen by skilled creation scientists, and will range from the simple to the semi-technical, and the design is guaranteed to be streamlined and easy to navigate.
And by the way: even though we are certainly in support of creation and creation research, this is not necessarily a creation magazine. It is a magazine on astronomy, and touches the subject of creation only when it is needful to for the sake of explaining a subject. In other words, it's run by Christians, but it's not a Christian ministry.
Vinnie has been working on the website and e-newsletter for a while, but know, he wants to go on to the full dream of a Magazine. But he needs a little help first...
And that's where you come in. (You've never heard that phrase used before, have you?) We've been working really (really) hard on this, and we know you won't be disapointed (well... we're pretty sure you won't be), so you could do us all-- yess, even you-- a big favor by donating. Every little bit helps, and if you could pass this on to your friends, that would be really great.
If you are fasinated by my brother's dream, I hope you will help us make it come true. See ya at the newsstand! :-)
Well, there are only two, after all (at least, only two that we know of); but one big reason is because the other major astronomy magazines are very unorganized and cluttered, with rather unatractive designs. Ours is (as you should be able to tell by the cover) to be streamlined and sophisticated, so the informationyou want will be easy to find.
Yes and No. We seldom mention the creation/evolution debate, and when we do, we don't shove it down your throats like so many other people do to us.
