Hi All,

We are pleased to announce that the shipping process is now almost complete! Your Mason Shakers are on their way to you via the great postal service of the US of A. Domestic addresses can expect their shakers in the next week, and international addresses will get theirs in the next two weeks.

One note: As you use your Mason Shakers, please be sure to hand wash, just like great-grandma would have done. The dishwasher is no safe place for your Mason Shaker top!

hi Eric, I as well am having issues with leaking shakers (I got 2 in the kickstarter campaign) - what is required to fix them? As a stop-gap I just put on a regular masor jar lid and ring, give it a good shake then put the pouring lid on but that kind of defeats the purpose. Please let me know if you have an alternative available. thank you.

    2. Creator stacie capone on February 3, 2013

      HI Eric -
I was wondering if you figured out a fix for the leaking shakers. I bought one as a christmas gift for my husband and he just used it for the first time last week. He went to shake our cocktail and it dripped all over the kitchen counter. So sadly, ours seems to leak as well. It's such a cool shaker and we want to be able to use it. Please let me know. Thanks so much!

    3. Creator Jimi I. Coplen on December 7, 2012

I received mine some time ago and thought it was really neat. I've not used it yet as I was going to gift it to a friend. This was my first product to invest in and I'm so happy to help the cause. Sounds like you are learning a lot from your investors! These will all be positive things you can use in future production. I wish you much success. Also, as someone who works in Economic Development, let me tell you that starting your own company is one of the very best things you can do for your community and America! Thanks for making your big dream a reality.

@any backers that have not received the shakers - please email me at eric@masonshaker.com

At this point in Brooklyn, our warehouse has been shut down due to the storm, but we are looking to have any and all shipping issues resolved in the coming weeks. Our ware house will hopefully reopen mid to late next week, and we will be contacting any/all unsatisfied backers in that time frame.

      Thanks!
      Eric

      @Chris and Helen-
We have been responding to several threads from our backers. As we scaled to the 2-3,000 units we have experienced leaking with a few units, and are currently looking for a fis., @ Chris- we have 1,000's of working shakers and have been working over the past several weeks to create a solution- In traditional tooled shakers, there is no gasket necessary, as there shouldn't be with our design- We have been keeping our backers updated in several threads- and will send out a solution for all backers once we have them. Chris- you must understand that this is our passion and we want to make all of our backers happy with their investment.

      Thanks!
      Eric

I completely agree with Helen Kaplow, this shaker is extremely disappointing. The first margarita I made sprayed all over my kitchen because there's no seal on the top, which is made of cheap, flimsy material. There's no rubber gasket, plastic seal, or anything like that to prevent your cocktail from shooting everywhere with even one vigorous shake.

This is basically a worthless product that I cannot use. You must have known that your lid is useless, and shame on you for abusing Kickstarter in this way.

    7. Creator Helen Kaplow on October 25, 2012

I received my shaker and am sorry to say that I am quite disappointed. The top that covers the strainer was extremely difficult to remove and scratched and dented in the process. But even worse, when in use, the top does not make a tight seal, so when shaking, liquid spills out and makes quite the mess. This is basically a worthless product that I cannot use. Cheaply made and obviously no product testing. You must have known that your lid does not work properly. Based on other comments, I see I am not alone in having these problems. It's a bad thing.

This is how you make your product better is by our feedback :). I had the same problem about getting the top off & i did end up scratching it. Nevertheless I made my first drink in it tonight. Worked well. I love the size of the Mason Jar. You might need a little more tweaking but it's a great concept. I love drinking from Mason jars. I use my Cuppow lid on & it's like a sippy cup. BTW my Grey Goose Martini is going down real smooth . <3

    26. Creator Eric Prum on September 27, 2012

@zoe- thanks again for the feedback and support! I believe the wear marks, from the tension point are due to the aluminum we used to match the aesthetic of the Ball mason jars. This may also address a few other issues we are hearing in product feedback. As far as the packing hay- when we were assembling the shakers it became such an incredible mess in the air and ware house and we will be looking for an alternative for future fulfillment, I do apologize.

@Louise- each shaker top I literally put together myself, and we have gotten some similar feedback. Please send me an email to eric@masonshaker.com and we will try and get to the bottom of this/fix it:)

Once again to all- thanks for the feedback! We will work to keep things shaking along as quick as we can!!

I just received mine today also, and cannot seperate the tops. It appears to be one solid piece of metal which makes no sense. I even asked my neighbor for help promising a free drink, but he could not seperate the lid from the piece with holes for pouring. Help!

    28. Creator Zoe W on September 27, 2012

Hello: Just recieved my shaker. Two things I would comment on for future retail sales: A little packaging in the sales box would REALLY make the product pop. The opinion that I have first off is that. No fluff, no shredded anything? It appears really cheap which it is not. Second would be that the lid over the strainer is very problematic to remove and dents and scratches the finish which is really quite a shame. Scratches and knicks are inevitable with use, of course, but right out of the box is disappointing. It will be a cute gift, which was my intent in the first place by the way (so it's not an afterthought). Good luck in the future!.

@lucas- Thanks for feedback! Can you email me? eric@masonshaker.com

myine had a huge dent in the upper cap cover for shaking. can you please send me another top?

    31. Creator Eric Prum on September 27, 2012

@Charles and Sean- Thanks for the feedback, we really do appreciate it.
We are taking a look into it this week. The packaging was a retail box inside of a shipper box, so I don't think that is the error .
I will keep you all updated as we work to see what can be done :)

Thanks again, your support is appreciated very much!

    32. Creator Charles Blalock on September 27, 2012

@ Sean - Same problem. Took me about an hour to get the darn thing off. I ended up using a waiter's corkscrew to get it off. Took the tip and placed it under the cap at 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. I was able to get it separated, but unfortunately there are some marks on the cap and the strainer is scratched to heck and back from all my efforts to twist and pull the cap off. I wonder if it just got beat up in shipping making it stick or if it's in the design.

Received mine yesterday. Thanks guys, it looks great.

Got mine today! Had a little hard time getting the top off the strainer part. I had to pry a little. Guess I am not that strong...lol. Can't wait to use it this weekend to make my artisinal Martini that I love to make. Thanks guys! Just one suggestion you should pack it in something so it doesn't move around.

    39. Creator Justin Speyer on September 26, 2012

      Hey guys,
Why the caveat about the dishwasher? Most stainless steel tends to handle the washer ok...is there a coating or something that would wear?
