Richard Breese is an accountant by profession, who has been designing and publishing games through his own company R&D Games since 1989. Richard is known for the 'Key' series of games including Keyflower and Keythedral, as well as other games such as Aladdin's Dragons, Fowl Play!, Inhabit the Earth, Reef Encounter and The BoardGameGeek Game.

One of the early games in the Key series, Keydom (1998), is widely recognised as the first worker placement game.
