Our plan is to use our existing base model close contact saddle as the starting point in creating something very special.
As with all Lund product, the base model has been used extensively by one of our test riders as well as many other riders with positive results and feedback in terms of fit, stability, comfort, rider position, balance and unison.
We feel that that the basic chassis of the existing close contact saddle will provide an excellent foundation to build upon, with the end result being a unique combination of design and cosmetic improvements that are in tune with the hunter/jumper and eventing communities current expectations.
Using the current close contact saddle as a palette, we will implement step by step changes over the course of 3 design prototypes during a 6 to 8 week period. All aspects of saddle design will be taken into account in determining which changes/improvements will be implemented during the prototype phase to provide the rider with the best combination of saddle construction materials/specifications, rider/horse synergy, padding and cosmetics.
We are pleased with the "bones" of the current CC, but pretty much everything will be open to discussion: Tree types, types of blocking and position, gullet type, leather types, flocking, hardware, stirrup bar types and position, number of billet straps... anything and everything related to the Lund process in creating the final product will be considered.
The Funding will be used to assist Lund Saddlery through the crucial first 3 phases of the design process of the Lund Rivera close contact saddle.
Risks and challenges
As a current supplier of high quality, value priced tack, we feel that Lund Saddlery is well positioned to see this project through from start to finish.
We will utilize our current manufacturers/suppliers and will implement the same step by step initial concept to market ready process used to launch all of our current line up.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
