Ann Clayton Basher, age 9, has set a goal to record her first album this summer in Birmingham, AL.
When people hear that she plays guitar, sings, and writes her own songs, they usually ask her, "Will you play for me?" But now, she wants everyone to hear.
Here's the plan:
We want the album to highlight Ann Clayton's pure sound. So, the recording will be done simply and professionally, finished off with eco-friendly packaging that reflects her style. Here's a breakdown of the budget:
- $1250 for recording costs (with the amazing Kyle Carpenter)
- $1000 for creating and shipping physical albums
- $500 for album and poster design & printing
- $150 for misc items like Kickstarter fees, meals while recording, and seed money for a new hardshell case.
Ann Clayton will also be holding a lemonade stand in Birmingham, AL on
Saturday, June 24th to help raise funds as well. Any money raised over the goal will be set aside for Ann Clayton's future musical projects.
Be sure to check out all of the rewards available to early backers of Ann Clayton's album, including early digital downloads, physical CDs, posters designed by Birmingham artists Jamison & Tamara Harper, ice cream hangouts with AC at Birmingham's own Big Spoon Creamery, or even hire AC to play a house show!
Thanks for checking out this project! Ann Clayton is excited to share her music with everyone!
Risks and challenges
We don't anticipate any risks in creating this project, and the challenge is only for Ann Clayton to put herself out there, Kyle to capture the sound, and the Harpers to create some album art that she can be proud of!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
