Just 5 days left!

Hello everyone!

We have just 5 days left on our new Kickstarter clock. As we're writing this we've raised just under 46.5K to fund the release of THE IRAN JOB, meaning we're still 13.5K short of our goal, which is set at 60K.

As you all know Kickstarter is an all-or-nothing modus which means that we don't actually receive ANY of the funding reached to date unless we get to the goal of 60K.

So it's crucial that we all rally the troops in these last 5 days to get to 60K. If you can think of friends or family or colleagues or anyone else who might be interested in matching your pledge please send them the Kickstarter link with a heartfelt endorsement. We appreciate your help immensely. Here's the link:

In the meantime the film is doing extremely well during its theatrical engagement in New York. We had such a good turnout last week that the IFC decided to extend the engagement for another week.

As of TODAY the new showtimes are 12:50, 4:20 and 7:50 PM

If you live in New York, or know people who do, please send them the release info (see below) and inspire them to come to the shows. ALL weekend shows have plenty of tickets available. If we can fill the seats like last week the momentum will keep rising and we may even get another extension. We are already getting booking requests from other cities around the country and even from Germany (!) -- all thanks to the success in New York. So please come out to the shows this weekend and bring many friends! We'll continue to have beer & fries after all night shows - see party info below.

Here's the NYC release info please spread it far and wide and inspire folks to come:

We also love this one here from yesterday since FINALLY someone talks about how bizarre this whole politics-love-triangle-basketball story is... http://www.salon.com/2012/10/09/the_iran_job_love_and_basketball_%E2%80%94_in_shiraz/

And check out the Carson Daly show talking about the film: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eEbSfWKNC8&feature=share

Vancouver update - 25K to go

Hello everyone!

We're looking forward to our second screening here at the Vancouver Intl. Film Festival tonight. It's been really nice up here, they gave us a super warm reception - and who would've thought there are so many Iranians here!

The Vancouver festival comes right at the heels of a whirlwind press day in NYC. In New York Kevin and Till were interviewed for CNN...

... and they also made us shoot some hoops for the camera... We're not going to reveal the final score but let's just say it was no contest...

Meanwhile, the LA theatrical run is still going strong. Please help us keep it that way by sending anyone you know in Southern California to the shows. There are two shows today - for tickets and show times click here: http://www.laemmle.com/viewmovie.php?mid=8274

And we're of course getting ready for our NYC opening next Friday: If you're in NYC please get your tickets soon. They will go on sale tomorrow afternoon at this link: http://www.ifccenter.com/films/the-iran-job/

Most importantly we're working very hard on expanding the release to more cities and hopefully countries. For this to work it's crucial that our NEW Kickstarter campaign keeps moving in the right direction, meaning UP UP UP. Currently we're are at 35K raised with 18 days to go. However, in Kickstarter math we won't see any of this funding unless we reach our total goal of 60K.

How can we get there? One way is this: if each of you can inspire one person to match you pledge we'll be funded... We're aware that not everyone can do this but we're hoping that on average each of you can inspire one more backer -- it really makes a huge difference.

And to those of you who haven't migrated your support to the NEW campaign yet -- now is a great time to do so. It directly affect our ability to release this film now.

Every time we screen the film, whether it's in LA or at Berkely a couple weeks ago, or now in Vancouver the same question keeps coming up from the audience: "How can this film get a wider release - beyond LA and NY - so that it can have a real impact." The NEW Kickstarter campaign is the best way to ensure that the film does get a wider release and we appreciate your help immensely in spreading the word about it. Here is the link again. Please spread it far and wide...

Many thanks to all of you -- wherever you are in the world - we hope to see many of you in Los Angeles this weekend and through the week, and then starting next Friday in NEW YORK!

Much love,

LA TIMES REVIEW - tweet - tweet - tweet

Hello everyone!

With pitch perfect timing for our LA release the LA Times just published their review which is ... awesome!!!!

Phhhh... these are the kinds of moments where filmmakers really sweat...more even than basketball players... A review from a national paper like that can kill you... or put you in play. This one certainly helps.

Please tell EVERYONE you know about the LA release - regardless of whether they live there or not. Someone may know someone who lives near LA, and that person might find his or her way to the theater. As Kevin says "It's not easy - BUT... we can."

Here's the link for showtimes & venues & tickets:

This week we also heard some - very quiet - Oscar chatter -- The Iran Job was included in an article about possible Oscar contenders. Nobody's quitting their day job here, but it's certainly nice to be in that conversation...

Lastly, for those of you in LA - we'll have drinks after the Friday 7:30 show at the Music Hall in Beverly Hills (so probably around 9:15ish). We'll be meeting at Kate Mantilini which is catty corner from the theater.

And we'll have drinks again at that same location after the Saturday 5:00 show.

Thanks as always for your support -- hope to see some of you this weekend!

Much love,

Sara & Till

Los Angelese release!!!

Hello everyone!

Hope you're all well!  Great news: THE IRAN JOB opens in Los Angeles tomorrow!

This is very exciting. But also a little scary! LA is so big -- so sprawling -- so hard to get butts in the seats... And we have two theaters to fill! One in Beverly Hills and one in Encino.

So please tell EVERYONE you know about the LA release - regardless of whether they live there or not. Someone may know someone who lives near LA, and that person might find his or her way to the theater. As Kevin says "It's not easy - BUT... we can."
