Greetings from Brooklyn - we hope this finds you all well, wherever you are in the world!
We’re back! And we miss you all!
And we have an important update:
We sent out the rewards at the end of July. If for any reason you have not yet received your reward please do send your current mailing address to email@example.com and we’ll make sure you get it.
Many of you have sent incredibly encouraging feedback to us, including the following note from Melody Gilbert, a professor at the American University in Bulgaria. Melody posted this on our new Kickstarter link this morning.
Kickstarter Comment: Thank you for having the courage to make this fascinating, funny and inspiring film about LIFE. I contributed to the original campaign and now I am a backer of the "Bring it to the Theater" campaign because this doc MUST have a theatrical run! It's simply amazing. I showed it to my students at the American University in Bulgaria last night and they were blown away. They come from 44 countries and the conversation we had after the screening was remarkable. THANK YOU for making this doc and I wish you the best of luck in this new campaign.
This brings us to the most important update:
Last week we launched our new campaign to raise distribution funds for THE IRAN JOB. We know what you're thinking... the kids are gonna kill us... They are already talking about "Kickstarter this" and "Kickstarter that." But we feel strongly that we need to go the extra mile to bring the film to audiences. The film is completed - thanks in large part to you all. Now it's time to distribute it in America and hopefully other parts of the world - so that it can have the impact that we all feel it should.
This effort can be as expensive as finishing the film itself. And it's a real challenge for us.
Given our first campaign some may think it’ll be easy to do it all over again, and to raise the necessary funds. However, in the world of independent film few things come easy (maxed-out credit cards, and Marriage & Relationship Counseling come to mind☺).
It won’t be easy at all to have such a campaign again! But we think it’s worth a try.
We would be very, very grateful if you would consider joining our new campaign by making a symbolical re-pledge at whatever level you can at this time. It would be a powerful way to demonstrate your continued support for the film, and allow us to merge the two campaigns into one big tent of supporters.
Having 744 backers for our new kickstarter campaign again (that's how many backers we had the last time) would be a huge statement, no matter the pledge amount. It will demonstrate to movie theaters in the U.S. and the rest of the world that there is a strong demand for this film.
If you do want to re-pledge please do it soon -- it is incredibly important for us to build momentum for the new campaign. Please also consider spreading the new link to your networks with a personal endorsement. It's the only way for an independent film like ours to have an impact - through grass roots support.
With that said, here’s the link. We could never do this without beautiful souls like you.
Much love and gratitude,
Sara & Till
