World Premiere!!! In Competition at the Los Angeles Film Festival!
To the most awesome, inspiring and patient group of backers:
This is the update we've been looking forward to!!!
We're beyond thrilled to announce that after four years of work The Iran Job will finally have its World Premiere - at the Los Angeles International Film Festival in June! The film has been selected for LAFF's Documentary Competition - they announced their line-up today. Click here for more info and for the official press release.
We really can't wait to deliver this film, our third child, to you and we hope that many of you can make it to the premiere. Exact screening dates will be announced as they become available, but for now please know that the festival runs from June 14-June 24 and it's looking like the premiere will be on June 15.
In the meantime let's not forget that we have an exclusive Sneak Preview screening right here in Brooklyn this coming Saturday, May 5. It will be the only time to see the film in NYC before its official World Premiere and it will be followed by a Q&A (and possibly some post-screening drinks...). We'd be thrilled to meet & greet our NYC backers on Saturday. For directions and tickets please click here.
Now that the film is getting a proper premiere we're also gearing up for the limited theatrical release later this year (fall). The theatrical release is a longer-term organizational effort and we are excited and very grateful to have some very dedicated backers helping us with grass-roots efforts in different parts of the country - for example in the bay area. If you think you can help organize releases in your community please don't hesitate to contact us. There are many new and demand-based distribution models out there (similar to Kickstarter), such as "Tugged" or "Demand It" that really allow film fans to become very pro-active in helping bring films to their communities. So please don't be shy about contacting us.
For those of you who haven't done it yet please "like" us on facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheIranJob?sk=info

We're very relieved to finally share our premiere date with you, and we look forward to celebrating with you soon!
Much love and gratitude,
Sara & Till
p.s. -- quick update on the DVD. (We know many of you have been asking for it). The DVD will become available right around the LA festival - in June. The wait is almost over!
p.s.s. -- we will be on a panel tomorrow at NYU discussing ways in which The Iran Job may impact Iranian-US relations. If you're in NYC and interested feel free to come. Here's the info:

Till Schauder, New York University
