Set on the world of Erridose, the first issue of Spell Warriors follows our heroes as they use their might, wit and magical abilities to join forces and defend the fortress of Ferrous Keep against an army of evil mutated Skab people. If the Spell Warriors are defeated then the Skab people will be free to enter the continent of Soodaria and wreak havoc and terror as they do the bidding of their dark overlord, Balki. Can the Spell Warriors learn to work as a cohesive team and use their unique skill sets together before it is to late?
Help bring this graphic novel to life to find out!
This story revolves around a group of misfit heroes who decide to take on the task of destroying a terrible place known as the Black Pit, the source of great evil in the world of Erridose. The warrior Dar-Pan first sets off on this bold quest alone, and throughout his journey he encounters many friends and foes along the way. As he makes his journey to the Black Pit, Dar-Pan comes across his fellow companions, who join him on his quest one by one, as they each have their own reasons for wanting to join Dar-Pan and help bring an end to the Black Pit and the evil within it.
As the Spell Warriors make their way to the Black Pit, they will face many trials, and their journey will eventually take them all across the world of Erridose, including visiting the massive continents of Soodaria, Yankona, and Terakesh. Our heroes will face much danger, as their goal is to not only reach and destroy the Black Pit, but to also bring an end to the army of the Skab People, defeat the 5 Pit Lords who are the rulers of the Black Pit, and finally, to bring down the supreme evil known as Balki, the most powerful Spell Caster in existence, who is the one who brought down the meteorite that caused the formation of the Black Pit, many years ago.

Here are some of our variant covers we plan to have for the graphic novel.
Graphic Novel Pages
(Work In Progress)
Here are examples of some of the graphic novel pages we already have in development.
The leader of the Spell Warriors, last surviving member of the blue-skinned warrior race known as the Feytins. A master swordsman, Dar-Pan is strong-willed and determined, he has nothing but vengeance on his mind, as he swore a blood oath to avenge his fallen people who were all slain by the massive armies of the Black Pit while he was out at sea. Dar-Pan sets off on his quest to the Black Pit, whilst in possession of an ancient relic he wears around his neck, capable of destroying the Pit, and it’s 5 demon rulers, known as the Pit Lords.
The second to join Dar-Pan on his quest, Rayhana belongs to the pale white-skinned and telepathic race known as the Seyers. Gifted with the use of a bow and arrow, Rayhana is passionate and fierce, and is motivated by nothing but pure love for her long lost child and husband, who were both taken long ago by the Black Pit army. When Rayhana comes across Dar-Pan and learns of his quest, she volunteers to join him on his mission to reach the Black Pit, because through her telepathic abilities, Rayhana can sense that her child and husband are still alive, and that they remain as prisoners at the Black Pit.
A massive brute of a man, Aksel is a human who comes from the Kelfazar warrior tribe, and is the third companion to join the Spell Warriors. Adept in the use of almost all types of heavy weaponry, Aksel is resilient, resourceful and will face any challenges head on. Aksel is a grand champion gladiator, and to his surprise is bested by the team efforts of Dar-Pan and Rayhana when they participate in the gladiator tournament along their journey to the Black Pit. Impressed by their skills, Aksel learns of their quest, and offers his services to join them, due to the fact that the duo spared his life after defeating him in the tournament, and he also has his own personal reasons for wanting to go to the Black Pit, reasons he keeps to himself for the time being.
Secretive and cunning, Seline is the 4th member to join the Spell Warriors. Seline is a trained assassin, belonging to the feline-like, pink-skinned race known as the Minkx. Seline is a highly skilled assassin, especially adept at the use of various knives and daggers. A sky pirate and captain of her own flying ship, Seline comes across Dar Pan and the others as they seek voyage to Ferrous Keep, a stop they must make in order to get to the Black Pit. Seline is first motivated by nothing but greed and money, but as she takes the companions on their voyage and learns more about them and their quest, she volunteers to join them, because she unknowingly assasinated her own mother many years ago, and since then has always felt tremendous guilt for it, and she believes she can redeem herself by doing a good deed such as help destroy the Black Pit and the Pit Lords within it.
The 5th member to join to Spell Casters, Sallister is a superior thief with a heart of gold. A born adventurer, Sallister is a human who was never able to stay at one place for too long, as the call to adventure constantly beckons him. Sallister is fully equipped with various thieving gadgets and weapons; he has a tool for almost any situation he finds himself in. When the Spell Casters arrive at his city, Sallister notices the relic around Dar-Pan’s neck, and steals it for its value. Through a series of events, the relic finds itself in the hands of a common enemy of both Sallister and Dar-Pan, and after learning of the relic’s true value and purpose, Sallister helps retrieve the relic back to Dar-Pan, and then volunteers to join the Spell Warriors on their quest, mainly because the call to adventure is too hard for Sallister to resist.
Very wise and mysterious, Senvoo-Chay is of the green-skinned Venjoon race, and is the 6th member to join the Spell Warriors. Senvoo Chay is a very powerful Shaman, who’s spent most his life meditating and in the constant pursuit of achieving maximum levels of consciousness. Many years ago, Senvoo-Chay had a vision where’s he was destined to join the Spell Warriors and serve as their guide and mentor along their quest, and to help lead them to victory. Because of this, Senvoo-Chay became a hermit, and ventured deep in to the woods to meditate, and remained there for years, honing his Shamanistic abilities, waiting for the day the group of heroes would come across his path.
The seventh member to join the Spell warriors, Relic is a human, hailing from the fortress-city of Ferrous Keep. Relik is a veteran military knight, and captain of the royal guard. He is an experienced and grizzled war tactician, possessing a mechanical prosthetic eye, arm, and leg. He is also in possession of a magical suit of armor, able to transform into impenetrable armor once he strikes the magical seal upon the armor’s chest piece. After his fortress is attacked by an army of demons from the Black Pit, and the Spell Warriors join Relik’s ranks and help fend the attacking army off, Relik volunteers to join the heroes on their quest, as a token of his gratitude.
The final member to join the Spell Warriors, Croggs is a giant automaton robot, known as a MechaKnight. Croggs towers over all other members of the Spell Warriors, and is the fiercely loyal companion of Relik. Croggs is unique, as not only is he a robot who possesses full consciousness due to a magical seal that grants him life, but Croggs is also a Spell Caster; a Shape Shifter – able to transform and shape shift in to almost any kind of mechanical object, but he most commonly prefers to transform in to the form of that of a battle tank. When Relik volunteers to join the Spell Warriors, Croggs naturally joins Relik at his side.
Other Reoccurring Characters
Malin-KI is a bounty hunter, one of the most notorious throughout all of Erridose. Malin-KI had a very tough life growing up, as he was abused by his parents, and lived in very tough neighborhood where fighting was the only way to gain respect. Malin-KI was particularly good at fighting, and soon it wasn’t enough to beat his opponents, but Malin-KI wasn’t satisfied until he killed them, using any means necessary. As Malin-KI became talented at killing, he set off to become a bounty hunter, and became incredibly successful at it. Malin-KI is in possession of a rare Wisp, an Elemental Wisp, which makes him an Elementalist Spell Caster, which grants him the ability to conjure hulking creatures made of pure elements known as Elementals. He is the leader of his own gang of 6 Spell Caster bounty hunters, with each member being in possession of their own elemental type Wisp.
Soka “the queen of assassins”, is the fearsome female leader of the Guild Of Assassins, formally known as the Crimson Claw, which is located in the huge and sprawling Barbarose City. Soka is a Spell Caster, in possession of a rare Death Wisp, which makes her a Death Gazer Spell Caster, which allows her to kill people just by looking them in the eye! As children, Soka and her siblings were orphans, belonging to a raggedy orphanage, which couldn’t contain them. Forced to live on the streets, Soka learned the hard way how to fend for herself, and she grew apathetic to killing anyone who stood in her way. After years of killing, Soka became naturally exceptional at it, and she drew the attention of a Minkx assassin who took notice of her. Realizing the potential Soka had, the Minkx approached her and offered to Soka an apprenticeship, where’s the Minkx vowed to teach Soka the secretive assassination tactics of the Minkx people. Soka agreed and became the Minkx’s apprentice. After years of training under the Minkx, Soka became an exceptional assassin, and when she felt she was ready, she founded the Crimson Claw, and became the leader of the notorious deadly gang, where’s she passes down the assassination techniques she learned from the Minkx to her followers.
Rainn “the king of thieves”, is the twin brother of Soka, and leader of the cunning Guild Of Thieves, formally known as the Dark Shadows. The Dark Shadows are the arch enemies of the Crimson Claw, and the two guilds are at constant war with each other, with their gang wars taking place all across Barbarose City. Rainn is a Spell Caster in possession of a Shadow Wisp, making him a Shadowmancer, which allows him to manipulate shadows. Rainn grew up with Soka in the orphanage, and helped scavenge for food and supplies when they were forced to live on the streets. Where’s Soka took to the approach of murder, Rainn felt less comfortable with killing, and preferred to only steal, leaving killing as the absolute last option when cornered. As Soka honed her killing skills, Rainn honed his thieving skills, and taught himself how to pickpocket, sneak around, and scale building walls. When Soka left to become the Minkx’s apprentice, Rainn stayed behind, and practiced on his thieving skills, growing better at the craft with every passing day.
Our vision is to make the concept of Spell Warriors in to a franchise. Our first goal is to make it in to a graphic novel series. We have an entire story arc planned out, a story which takes place all across the world of Erridose, challenging our heroes every step of the the way.
The graphic novel is only the beginning. With your support, we hope to develop this concept in to many other things, app games, video games, action figures, animated series, movie series, clothing line, table top games, card games, etc.
With your help in donating, we strongly believe we can achieve all these things, and more!
Spell Warriors Game & App Concept Art
These are samples of what a potential app game could look like. You would take on the role of one of the Spell Warriors, and gather items, weapons, and gear, in order to defeat enemies, gain experience, and become even more powerful!
Here is an example showcasing what a character sheet could look like, how collecting different types of gear and weapons can improve your stats, thus causing your character to gain more experience, making them stronger.
Here is an example of a quest log, here you can keep track of all the quests you have done, the quests your are currently doing, and the quests you must unlock for later on. On the side, it shows the contents of all the items you have collected so far, for which you can use in various situations, or sell at the market to earn coins.
This is an example of buying talismans at a shop. As you move along your quest, you will encounter and obtain different types of Wisps. Each different Wisp type you obtain, will allow you to conduct new and exciting types of magic. However in order to recharge your Wisp after it's energy is depleted, you must recharge it within its corresponding talisman. For this, when you reach various cities and towns along your journey, you have the option to enter shops and buy talismans. The more rare of a Wisp you have, the higher it's talisman cost, but it is well worth it, because the more rare the Wisp, the more devastating and powerful its magical properties are.
Here is another example for a character sheet.
And this is another example for how a character sheet could look.
As we work on our graphic novel, we have a specific art style dedicated to that. However, since we envision this concept as a whole franchise, we have come up with alternative art styles for the same characters. This art style is more suitable for video games, action figures, animated series, and movies. With this art, we can really show the direction in which we want to take this concept in.
As our heroes make their journey through the world of Erridose, they encounter many foes along the way, including the heinous Pikins! There are many types of pikins, they live all across the world, and have adapted a tribal mentality. Pikins have the unique ability to adapt to their surroundings, thus increasing their chances of survival no matter in what environment they take residence in.
Balki, the most powerful Spell Caster in existence, is the one who brought down the meteorite which caused the Black Pit to form. Balki is ruthless, and knows nothing but malice and pain. His goal is to obtain all Wisps in existence, thus becoming practically a god.
The Skab People
The Skab people were not always like this, at first they were normal people and races just like any other. However these people were unfortunate enough to happen of been living in the vicinity of where the great meteorite fell. As the meteorite crashed down on to Erridose and formed the Black Pit, it brought with it an otherworldly dark magic, in the form of a spreading green fog. This fog spread throughout the surrounding area, and those who were not killed by the impact of the meteorite, were left to an even worse fate than death. Breathing-in this poisonous fog, the miasma caused these people to mutate and merge with nearby insects. From these mutations, the people became human-insect hybrids, thus becoming the Skab People. Because there are so many types of insects, there are equally many types of Skab People. Our heroes encounter these hideous monsters throughout their journey from time to time.
Beyond Pikins and Skab People, many other hostile foes live across the world of Erridose, and our heroes encounter these foes from time to time. Here is but a slight sample of some of the many beings that populate Erridose.
My name is Saul Kramer, and our story begins all the way back in my high school days. I came up with fantastical ideas involving magic, monsters, and heroes. It was then when I first came up with the idea for Spell Warriors, and soon enough it became my main occupation, where's I was writing about it in nearly every class I had. Even back then, I realized at that young age that this concept I came up with the Wisps and Sprites, it was a cool idea, and I realized it had the potential to become something big one day, so I made a deal with myself. I kept all my original high school notes regarding the Spell Warriors, and I told myself that one day when I'm older, wiser, and have a bit more funding, I would work on this concept, and try to make it in to a real franchise.
I am happy to say that I kept true to my word. I always remembered the promise I made to myself, and I waited for the right opportunity to get back to working on the Spell Warriors idea. That opportunity arose last year, when I moved to New York, and realized it was time to finally do it. I gathered all my original high school notes, and I knew I had to assemble a team.
The first thing I knew that I needed was a business partner. I'm a creative individual, but I tend to get lost in my imagination sometimes, so I knew I needed a partner who could act as my counterpart, someone who understood the concept I was trying to make, but also had their head on their shoulders, and who understood the more technical business side of things. That partner turned out to be Patrick Judd. We originally met on the casting call for the first film I made, called The Robin, a fan film dedicated to Robin of Batman lore. I posted an ad for actors, and Patrick came across it and auditioned for the role, and eventually got the main lead. Discovering our mutual love for entertainment, comics, and fantasy, Patrick and I struck up a friendship, and we remained good friends ever since. With Patrick having over 4 years experience managing a business in Manhattan, he was the perfect candidate to be in charge of the more technical aspects of the business.
Now came the time to assemble my team of artists. I knew since I had such a large concept, I would need multiple artists, with each artist being the head of their own department. I searched high and low, talking to many artists along the way, but I eventually found the most talented and gifted artist to help bring the Spell Warriors concept to life. The first artist I needed was someone to be in charge of the Wisps and Sprites. For those, I found an incredible talent in Antonio Marte, who told me he immediately felt very drawn to the concept after I explained it to him.
The next artist I needed was someone who could take care of all the talisman designs, since they play such a significant role in the mythology. I was fortunate enough to meet Graham Sisk, who connected with the material right away, and turned out to be the perfect artist for the job.
Next, I needed to focus on creature design. This being an entire fantasy world, I needed to populate the world with various creatures, monsters, and humanoids our heroes could encounter during their epic quest. For this, I was contacted by Jason Dorf, a professional concept artist, who turned out to be the perfect fit for the role.
In addition to concept art, I knew I also needed an alternative style art, to show various styles and directions of characters, so that we can expand our concept beyond just doing a graphic novel. For this, I was fortunate to meet Junti Dutta, who with his unique realistic art style, brought our characters to a whole new level. In addition, Junti has also contributed tremendously to this project by providing us with incredible landscape art.
There finally came a time when I needed to find a comic book artist. I interviewed many people for the job, but none of the artists I talked to possessed the particular comic book art style I was looking for. Then, I was introduced to Dheeraj. I was talking to someone who had previously worked on a graphic novel with Dheeraj, titled "The One." I looked at samples from that graphic novel, and I realized that was the exact style of art I envisioned for my graphic novel. I was then able to get in contact with Dheeraj, and we struck up a friendship very quickly. After I showed Dheeraj all the amazing concept art I had accumulated by that point, he was hooked, and he agreed to be our lead graphic novel artist.
Afterwards, I was in search for a talented writer to write the graphic novel script. Being the experienced artist that he is, Dheeraj has many talented friends in the industry which he has worked with in the past, and one of those people was John Reppion. Dheeraj stated that he had worked with John several times in the past, and that he was a fantastic writer and highly recommended. Through Dheeraj I was able to contact John, and John liked the Spell Warriors concept art very much, and agreed to come on as the head writer for the graphic novel.
Eventually, the time came to build ourselves a website. As I began the search for a website developer, I talked it over with Dheeraj, and once again he recommended someone to me, his good friend Kishan Harchandani. Just as with John, Dheeraj had worked with Kishan in the past, and he spoke very highly of him. I took Dheeraj's suggestion and contacted Kishan, and sure enough Dheeraj was right about him, and Kishan agreed to join the team as our Chief Technology Officer.
Through countless ads, interviews, emails, phone calls, and everything else in between, I eventually narrowed the candidates down to the best, and that is what we have now, we have assembled the best team possible. Every person within our team is a top tier professional, and every one of them has contributed to the project in their own unique way. I am grateful for my team, I couldn't have gotten to this point without them.
With your help and contributions, this team plans to make Spell Warriors the most epic and fun fantasy franchise yet!

Risks and challenges
The good news is, the script is written and the art is underway for the graphic novel and we will reach print. The biggest challenge we face is brand awareness for Spell Warriors. We think we have crafted a well rounded and intriguing adventure story for all to enjoy. Something that can be translated from print, to animation, to app, to board game, to merchandise and so much more. Something to help keep the imagination alive and well across the globe. Something to provide positive role models with diverse backgrounds to help inspire those that face challenges everyday. Something to provide an escape from reality and a pathway to a magical and mystical realm to live out your most epic and wildest of dreams. A place where you can be the hero of your own story. However in this era people are constantly absorbing entertainment and information through a multitude of screens and pages at any given time across the globe. Can Spell Warriors break through and find its own audience in this competitive sector? We have diligently worked to ensure that that answer is yes.
