The Brydge: One Month Update
It’s been a little less than a month since our project was successfully completed and we wanted to give you an update with everything we are working on. It has been a very busy month for the three of us. In addition to our work on the manufacturing side we have been setting up the business side of Brydge, which is necessary to complete the manufacturing work. Needless to say, a lot to get done, but we’re having a blast getting everything ready.
Sam is currently in New York at the Consumer Electronics Week conference, where he had an opportunity to speak on a Kickstarter Panel, along with Josh Guyot, founder of the Galileo. The coolest product he saw at the conference was probably the iPower Pro iPhone case, which acts as a backup battery and pocket projector – very cool. If anyone else was at the conference this week and saw something interesting please post it in the comments section, we’d love to check it out.
While Sam is in New York, Brad and Eddy are spending some time in Asia talking to manufacturers. We are making great progress – We have selected our aluminum manufacturer, who is currently making a first run of production sample prototypes. As for other parts of Brydge, including the keyboard, Bluetooth modules and electronics, we have made many contacts and are still determining which companies will be the best partners for us. We have been very impressed with several companies we have met with and are confident that we have some very strong options. Some additional good news is that the hinge manufacturer is making the first run of production sample prototypes this week.
Brad and Eddy Discussing Hinge Options
One note on the hinge design. After spending a lot of time looking at our design on our own and with our manufacturers, we are considering some tweaks to the design that will make it more minimal and more awesome. More details to come in our next update, once we’ve finalized the design, but we are really excited and think you will be too.
To sum up, while we still have a lot of work to do, we are still on track to launch Brydge in October! Obviously, this is baring any future delays, but all is looking good as of now. If you have any specific questions or suggestions for us please continue to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can.

PS – We’ve received a lot of questions about our video and did want to confirm that we did the entire video in-house. For a lot of the cool shots we got we used different jibs. For those of you interested in making videos, we have seen this Aviator Travel Jib on Kickstarter, which is more awesome than what we used, and priced well.
