6 months ago, HOT MESS took the ultimate gamble:
We quit our jobs, kissed our families goodbye, and trekked nearly 3,000 miles across America to challenge ourselves and make our dreams of making music into a full-time career. We've been working tirelessly, playing show after show, connecting with as many fans, bands, and music industry folks as possible, all in hopes that our risky gamble would start to pay off.
And, we're proud to say, it is...
Recently, Chad Carlson, two-time GRAMMY award winning engineer for Album Of The Year (2010) and Country Album Of The Year (2010), approached us with the notion of recording a 5 track EP. Needless to say, we were stoked out of our everloving minds at the prospect of working with a man of Chad's expertise and credentials. After a handful of pre-production meetings with Chad, not only are we confident in his vision for the future of HOT MESS, we can honestly say that he's one of the nicest people we've met during our musical journey. Chad understands us to such an extent that he'll not only be engineering this EP, but we've asked him to co-produce it, as well.
An EP of this magnitude, regardless of the enthusiasm that everyone involved shares, will still cost a significant amount of money (no risk, no reward, right?). That's where YOU come in, friends...In order to cover the costs of studios, production, Kickstarter fees, etc...HOT MESS needs to raise $12,000.
We know it's a lot of money, but we're in it to win it, folks. How often does a band from a tiny town in Northern California get an opportunity like this?
With each donation, we are one step closer to making this musical dream a reality. The songs are written, the band has never been more solid, and our dedication to take HOT MESS to the next level is stronger than ever. So, what do you say... Will you roll the dice with us?
