KNEAD is a one-man artisan bread business from St. Louis, Missouri that is committed to revitalizing the old-world American bread culture by crafting extraordinary sourdough breads from the simplest and purest ingredients.
All of our bread is handcrafted with only:
- Organic, Non-GMO, and Locally Sourced Flours
- Sprouted Ancient Heirloom Grains i.e. Einkorn
- KNEAD's 3-Year-Old Sourdough Starter
After 3 years of sharing a small amount of kitchen space in the industrial kitchen of a local retirement facility and selling at farmers markets, I can no longer keep up with my local community's overwhelming demand for KNEAD's rustic breads.
It is now time to move out of our current baking space and into a new kitchen of our own, down the road, in the historic district of St. Charles, MO.
KNEAD is much more than a one-man bakery, it is truly a community bakery, and for that reason alone I feel it is only appropriate that this project would be community-funded. KNEAD could not have made it this far without all of your support and I fully recognize that KNEAD will not be able to continue growing without your continued support.
I sincerely need your help to fund this project, in order to finance a building, get additional equipment, and hire a small staff of people. I believe KNEAD will grow into much more than just a bakery. It will be a neighborhood establishment that is committed to hand-crafting and growing its own unique food, as well as committed to supporting other local farmers, artisans, and producers in the community. Be sure to read through all the rewards that I have listed. I have spent a lot of time thinking about how I can offer some really great packages and in the end I believe that we can all come away with something amazing. So please help me fund this project, every cent that this campaign raises will go directly to giving KNEAD a proper home.
Thanks for your support,
Risks and challenges
We completely recognize that anything can happen, we feel like the biggest obstacle in fulfilling any portion of these rewards would be if the construction and opening of the bakery runs longer than initially anticipated. However, we have total faith that once our baking and dining space is open, we will be able to fully execute our commitment to our community and everyone that helped support us!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
