Have a question?
My Box of Phroggs arrived over the silly season.
Quality of the casting is excellent, really pleased with both of them.
Glad you got your phroggs in time for xmas, Tom! Thanks to you andJonathan for your relies re: phrogg colour scheme - sorry for the late reply - it's been a hectic xmas! Rainforest colours sound good to me too. I'm thinking of going with a salamander black, slick skin, with thin striations of bright colour, perhaps to distinguish the various phrogg castes.
@RPE, Thanks i got my Phroggs today,
Happy Xmas to all
Wahoo I have Phroggs!
Fingers crossed that you will Jon, everything has been posted now so it's up to the good old Royal Mail.
I'm hoping my Phroggs are in the last batch. It would be nice to get them for Christmas :)
Glad to hear you are busy, you will need a break
one last batch to do, Christmas orders have been crazy so I've been run a bit ragged. I'm getting it all in the post in time for Christmas if it kills me, sorry for the wait guys and thanks for your patience.
Has it all shipped now?
@Trismegistos, Il probably paint mine green or blue
@Jonathan, That is quite a few Phroggs you have, if i remember right im waiting for a squad of 10 plus 1 of all the extra heroes/command Phroggs
I have over 120 of these cool guys to paint so was going for half of them blue and the other half red so my friend and meyself can fight each other . The red and blue will be rainforrest colours.
Hi Paul (and all fellow Phroggs backers),
my box of Phroggs arrived on Saturday and they all look great. Very much looking forward to painting them and assembling units.
I'd be very interested to see & hear how other backers are going to paint their Phroggs, too - a paint scheme can really alter the character of a figure, and with the Phroggs there are so many possibilities, from pulp sci-fi to cosmic horror!
Glad you like the Jonathan, I think you were probably first to get them as we had to ship with couriers because it was such a heap of minis ;-)
Only UK pledges left to fill now and they will all be done by the end of next week.
OMG phroggs arrived at my door in Australia they r phroggtastic soooo happy
thanks for the update .. can't wait!
@RPE, Nice to hear we should all have our Phroggs soon
Hi Dave, all non-EU packages are on the way, they should begin arriving next week, working through EU ones at the moment, almost done with them- then it's on to UK ones.
Hi, any update on the shipping and estimated delivery times?
That's great news and really nice too to choose such a fair strategy - so often with KS'es it's 'homeland first, then nearest regions, then...oh, those folks who live in weird places we forgot about'. Thanks indeed for doing things the proper way, Paul!
Really looking forward to unboxing those Phroggs and I'll be onboard for the next Phroggs project, should you choose to do one.
I'm hoping to get all shipping finished next week, I'm doing them 'rest of world' first, then Europe, then UK, so they should arrive for everyone at a similar time.
How's the shipping going ?
packages will begin shipping next week and continue through November, thanks for your patience everyone.
Good to hear things are picking up
Yeah, there's not much to report really. We've had electricians in rewiring the building which has put a dent in my mould making time. They are all done now so I can get back to work- still on course for an early delivery.
The phroggs II kickstarter may well feature smaller phroggs as the sculptor from our first one seems to have retired or something! If we have to start more or less from scratch we may well go for a smaller phrogg, seems to make sense if they are a primitive variant anyway and it will keep costs down.
Oh dear it's all sooo quite . But I think I hear the sound of war phroggs marching towards there battle ships and ready to leap across time and space to enslave mankind (we won't even see them comming
Please make a Phrogg army for the chaos war rules for your next kikstarter !
Frogs and Scientists us a great short story... Good twist to it and humorous ;-)
You can find it in Herbert's collection of short stories: "Eye".
Some nice ideas there :-)
I think the half-breed, deep-ones looking, hybrid phroggmen would be awesome.
Kickstarter have finally informed us that the funds are being released so not long now.
It will be a bit quiet for while as I crack on with making moulds and casting up masters.
I'm compiling a backer list to work from so if there are any queries about add-ons that need a paypal request that will be coming along fairly soon.
I think u nailed it my army the Void Phroggs want to rule all the humans the only thing they love more then battle is new tech they have come to earth to fight and rule . Then steal all the new tech they can to add to there fleets of void ships so the battle can go on .
I'm thinking that the Phrogg overlords are super-advanced, immortal psychic techno-mages who primarily inhabit hyperspace and can manifest on the battlefield (or at a Phrogg soiree) in any form they wish, like the Great Old Ones, Moorcock's chaos lords, etc. Gives me another excuse to use all my Cthulhu monsters anyway!
That sounds like a great story, Jonathan. I must try to track it down, and the later novel, too.
And yes, you're exactly right: I'm thinking of hybrid man-phroggs used as a kind of degenerate, brainwashed or indoctrinated slave race, who bulk out the Phrogg army and help them conquer the galaxy. The Phroggs, of course, regard the entire galaxy as their property already, and see themselves as reclaiming their former vassal races (like us humans).
I imagine that the Phroggs are an ancient, decadent and generally slothful race; after millenia of hyper-civilisation and slow decline, few wish to join the army, and they bulk out their numbers with hybrids, zombie slaves, bio-engineered beasts and maybe barbaric Phroggs found on former colony worlds.
I seem to be getting a bit carried away with all this! Looking forward to painting them very much indeed.
The name of the short story was ""Frogs and Scientists" by Frank Herbert it is veary cleaver and funny .
Do you mean half man half phrogg cross breed slave race to hlep them take over the world ? If yes you have a veary cool idear collars and chains like in the walking dead tv show one phrogg master and too half breed slaves as sinffer dogs to find hot young woman to take back to the home world as servents or FOOD!
The writter of the book DUNE Frank Herbert wrote a short story and latter a large book about Space froggs i cant rember the name but every time i think about this kikstarter i think about that book worth the read if u can find a copy .in the book space frogs was the first race mankind encounted when they left earth .it is veary likely we might find phrogg like life out there as any world that had life would have to have a great deal of water and amphibians were the first to walk on land on earth .maybe our phrogg overlords will be kind to us and feed us lots of yummy bugs (yuck!)
Hi Paul, KS kept hassling me to fill in the pledge form, so even though I sent you my pledge details via email, I've filled them in on the pledge manager form too. Hope that's ok; at least you've got my pledge in it's official place now too!
BTW, here's a crazy idea for futire Phroggs projects: instead of zombie troops, maybe the Phroggs swell their ranks with mutant hybrids of men & Phrogg, like Lovecraft's hybrid Deep Ones. In aeons past, the Phroggs experimented upon man's ancestors and blended their own DNA into men's, allowing the creation of horrible cross-breeds.
They would be awesome for horror/Cthulhu gaming, too! I imagine them, deformed, slack-jawed and shambling or hopping along, armed with the same weaponry as the sci-fi or fantasy Phroggs, perhaps with control collars... Cthulhu-worshipping Phroggs!
@RPE, thanks, all my extras are just Phroggs and nothing from the website so im in no hurry just invoice me when it suits you
Hi Paul, sorry to check again, but did you get a chance to read my email and get my pledge list? If not, I can paste the info into the KS survey thingy.
@Tom, it will probably be a week or two before I sort out the invoicing for extras, we can adjust people's pledges pretty much up until we ship so there is no real urgency on our part. If anyone wants the extras sorted out in a hurry so they can pay just message me and I'll work theose ones out first.
@RPE, thanks, ive one more question when will you be invoicing us for the extras? stright away or in a week or so?
like the others, I found the pledge manager survey's multiple choice didn't work, so I just sent you an email with the full list of my pledge contents. I hope that's ok; if not, just let me know and I'll paste the whole lot into the survey's extras space instead.
Hi Tom, yes they are, please just ignore the multiple choice list, it really didn't work how I wanted. If you list each add-on you want in the last question we will sort it out.
@RPE, Are the rocket launcher and flamethrower Phroggs still add-ons as they are not listed on the survey?
Phroggs on terrordactalls
I only have one thing to say phroggs on horse back (dawn of the planet of the phroggs)
Thanks Bob, we will be collecting through paypal for any extras above backer's pledge amounts, over the next few weeks I'll check with everyone that wants extras and sort out paypal invoices. There will be plenty of time before the pledges ship to add to them.
Oh! Just answered the survey. Selected medic and listed one of each other individual in the comments. Sorted? Thanks.
Sent survey good luck i know how tricky this bit of the kikstarter can be . Dont worry its all part of the fun any problems please contact me .i think u did a great job for your first time .the next one will be easy to run . I think phroggs will be a beg seller love the look of them and cant wait to paint my 2 armys .
thanks @sablefox -the kickstarter survey system was a lot less user friendly than I expected, it didn't make it clear that the multiple choice would only allow a single answer. :-(
If people just put all the info about what add-ons they want in the last question we will take it from there. (Just select sergeant in the multiple choice one to give it an answer and we will ignore it). Sorry about the hassle
You'll also have the problem that people will have to select a add on, even if they don't want one and haven't pledged for one.
On the survey, you've gone for radio-buttons so we can only pick one option - not select multiple selections.
