Against the Horde is a twist to existing Greek Mythology.
Cronus, King of the Titans, was overthrown by his son Zeus thus fulfilling prophecy. Zeus cast Cronus and the Titans loyal to him down to Tartarus, the deep abyss of suffering and torment. The Hecatonchires, who were pivotal in tilting the war in favor of Zeus were ordered to guard the Titans in Tartarus.
Only the most wicked and foulest criminals were sentenced to Tartarus. You had to commit vile acts to be condemned there.
Cronus, being the god of time, used this to his advantage. He was able to raise an army of those damned to Tartarus and after years of whispering in the ears of the Hecatonchires was able to enact his revenge upon Zeus and his favored mortal children.
With the aid of the Hecatonchires, Cronus opened up portals from Tartarus to beneath the earth. He sent the most feared villains of Tartarus out to merge with the creatures cast out by man to create abominations which flooded the mortal lands to destroy civilization. During this chaos Cronus makes his attack on Mount Olympus.
Legendary creatures melded with large numbers of creatures such as orcs, goblins and ogres. Factions of these mutated atrocities launched a hate filled attack on the cities of the world. It was over in hours.
You were among those caught up in these attacks, but you managed to escape and survived. With a handful of other survivors you formed a base camp and decided to forge your glory and discover where these creatures are coming from, and put an end to their invasion to save the world, and allow civilization to rebuild.
This is where your story starts. As you attempt to find the sources of these creatures and put an end to them.

LoL Games, llc is a very small game studio located in the Conch Republic (aka the Florida Keys). We are avid game enthusiasts. From table top games to role-playing games, to video games. We just love games.
We want to be able to bring our creative ideas of different games to you, to hopefully entertain, inspire and encourage creative thinking and strategy.

Over a year ago when we were planning this game, we knew we would be doing it at great expense to ourselves. We planned as carefully as we could with the information we had. While the work has gone well, and we are very happy with the quality art we have been able to contract out we hit a very unexpected bump in hurricane Irma.
Hurricane Irma devastated the area we live in and has had a dramatic impact on both funding and time available to put in to Against the Horde. While excessive coffee and a lot less sleep has helped with latter, it means if we want to launch the game with everything we have envisioned we will need the help of generous people who find our concept of games interesting and want to see what we do with it.
We also want as much feedback as possible on the game itself. What can we do to improve it? What other options or cool abilities can we add?
So we come here to ask you to help us finish our dream and be the recipient of our hard work and dedication.
We really appreciate all of your support we receive here on Kickstarter. The funding we receive from this campaign will be invested directly in to the game.
While some of that means being spent on less sexy things like administrative costs, marketing, fees, etc, a lot of this goes in to the cool factor.
Art. Music. Design. Code.
We want to add new factions, create dynamic music that adjusts more to what is going on in the game at the time, new features, a better and more intuitive UI. All this costs us money in addition to development time. We are happily donating whatever time is needed in order to bring our vision to you, and the support from our Kickstarter is what will be helping with the monetary side.
Risks and challenges
We are a very small studio located in a tropical island off the coast of Florida. There are always risks and recent history has showed us that risks usually come from unexpected angles, such as a hurricane.
Development on the core of the game is very far along, but this is this studio's first release. There will be unforeseen obstacles but we are trying our best to research and plan for surprises.
These could cause delays. Unexpected costs also could result in delays until funds are obtained to complete things to our customers satisfaction. We are pretty sure on costs we have charted, and are very confident that we will hit our targets.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
