Discover & enjoy the "feeling" of the mountains.
Celebrate the wonder and beauty of the region known as Estes Park and Grand Lake, Colorado - the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park. This is arguably one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Once you’ve been here you’ll never want to leave.
“A Home In The Sky” is a way for you to take home a piece (and peace) of the mountains.
The Story ~
We're here to share an upcoming opportunity that we're really excited about!
Our new project is a visual and musical experience called “A Home in the Sky”.
We want to celebrate the transformative beauty and wonder of the Colorado Rockies, specifically Rocky Mountain National Park, through the release of an elegant hardbound coffee-table book and companion CD.
This National Park is approximately 416 square miles and is home to mule deer, elk, big horn sheep, moose, beavers, otters, black bear and mountain lions, to name a few, along with a host of other wildlife including 280 species of birds ranging from bald eagles to hummingbirds. It’s a zoo without fences!
What makes Rocky Mountain National Park so compelling and unique is that nearly a third of the Park reaches over 10,000 feet above sea level, giving the visitor unbelievable views of majestic, snow-covered peaks, glaciers, rivers and valleys all in a setting that is blessed with around 300 days of glorious blue skies a year. It has been called the crown-jewel of the National Park system.
When visiting Rocky, you will definitely want to take Trail Ridge Road, all the way to the Alpine Visitor Center on top of the world. Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous-paved highway in the continental U.S., crossing the continental divide from Estes Park on the east, 48 miles over to Grand Lake on the west side.
Here, above timberline, the alpine tundra soars into the sky! It is a unique, high-altitude ecosystem showcasing a fragile, weather-beaten realm of miniature wildflowers and expansive panoramas, providing the visitor an amazing and unforgettable experience that is sure to endure a lifetime.
One visit here and you will see what all the fuss is about. In fact, you’ll never want to leave this enduring paradise!
That is why the project, “A Home in the Sky” is being created. It’s a way for you to take home a piece of this wonderfully spectacular realm.
The book combines the lyrics from the song “A Home in the Sky” with the award-winning photography of Erik Stensland. Erik is a landscape photographer with a passion for Rocky Mountain National Park. He sees beauty at every turn and in every season, in the smallest leaf to the mighty peaks, and wants to communicate the beauty behind the beauty.
Folks come from all over the world to visit his gallery, Images of RMNP, in downtown Estes. Here you can see the grandeur of this magnificent place through Erik’s eyes.
The imagery in the book “A Home in the Sky”, combined with the enchanting music of Starry Knight Project makes for the perfect souvenir or gift for anyone who loves the mountains or longs to come here!
The CD included, features music by Starry Knight Project, inspired by, and written specifically about Estes and Rocky Mountain National Park. Songs like “Above It All”, “Rustic Mountain Charm”, and “Life in the Rocky” spill forth the love and respect we have for this “front doorstep of Heaven”…. As an added bonus, the album also features a lullaby version of John Denver’s beloved hit single, “Rocky Mountain High”.
If that wasn’t enough, we’ve also included seven Mountain Meditations ~ Thoughtful reflections inspired by the mountains, set to relaxing music, integrated with the soothing sounds of nature in the Rockies – (the wind gently whispering through the ponderosas, birds singing in the sub-alpine forest, the babbling of cool mountain rivers, and streams at the foot of these glorious peaks.)
These simple, uplifting messages feature quotes and thoughts from naturalists like John Muir, Enos Mills and others. They are designed to help you unwind from the stress of your day, where you can time and again, put yourself in the natural setting of the beauty, shelter and tranquility of the mountains.
So there you have it – “A Home in the Sky” ~ Bringing the magic and majesty of the mountains into your home.
Obviously, the cost for such an elegant and timeless offering is substantial, and that’s where you come in.

Risks and challenges
Most of the music in this project has already been recorded and is in the mixing and mastering stage.
The book has been beautifully designed, carefully edited, and is in the final stages of development. Much insight and assistance regarding imagery, printing, publishing, and advertising was gained through regular consultations with the staff of Images of RMNP, who have a wealth of practical experience with such endeavors. All of this will serve to ensure the success of the project.
We see minimal risk for backers of this project. If we don't reach the funding goal, then your credit card is not charged.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
